When was the last time an Enzo Calzaghe trained boxer ran out of steam?
Doesn't happen, Pryce has looked strong in his longer fights recently, Joe always looks fresh is the closing rounds and Macca showed against Braithwaite he can keep going after a hard fight.

Thats all true, but Macca was always a fit boy since he turned pro. The first Hobson fight showed his fitness - that wasn't under the tutorlidge of Enzo Calzaghe.

But yes, Enzo certainly gets his boys in shape.

i dont think so bud i think froch would frustrate calzaghe with good counter punching and i think froch would beat calzaghe only because calzaghe struggles so much to make weight he;s been struggling since he boxed mark delaney back in the 90s and is open about it which makes me think that froch might just have what it takes to win
How will he counter punch a world class fighter when they've already hit him? He can do that pot shot leaning back with low guard stuff against lower level fighters because he has a good chin but not world class fighters.

Froch's style be outworked as well.

Joe has mentioned having to train hard to be 12st but If his stamina was affect I don't think him and Enzo would be stupid enough to stay at the weight.

Froch has been offered the fight and has turned It down as well. So doesn't he think he's ready for Joe yet but can mouth off?

Froch won't do any counter pot shots on the ropes when Joe overwhelms him and doesn't give him a chance to find the right target.

Boxing chat reckons he was offered 250k with no options, thats not a bad offer for the level he's on.

Calzaghe has scared the super middleweights after showing his true demonic powers he unleashed on Lacy! :o

but isnt he now WBC no.1? the prospect of a VERY legitimate belt (rather than a quasi-legitimate one) might be a good lure

He'll probably fight for the vacant WBC belt after Joe beats Kessler.

Calzaghe scares.

You really don't believe that S.N. made any realistic formal offers to Froch and Hennessy do you?

I wouldn't go by everything Warren says. It's always the OTHER guy that doesn't want to fight his guy.

Why would he agree to It before hand?

How concrete was that offer? Did they make it beyond the confines of Boxrec? Was it by text or recorded delivery and if it was neither why don't SN score the killing blow in this feud by showing people the written offer and naming and shaming?
I'm not saying I believe It but by the way Froch mouths about Calzaghe then doesn't accept It makes a case to believe whether he wants the fight.

I agree SN hasn't said how concrete the offer was there could of been anything ridiculous In the offer. Hennessy and Froch wern't so concrete about the offer either though on the articles Wellington posts, all Froch said was the offer was derisory.

Was Mick's 1.6 Million offer realistic to Joe and Frank?

Auto, I try to keep an open mind on what gets said. I wouldn't disagree If It's just promoters ego nonsense or whatever.

He's taking Unification now though ain't he? Kessler had a mandatry to fight and signed a contract to beat Andrade.

Hennessy is a good promoter, but no better or worse than a crop of others. At this stage I am wondering how much clout he will have if Froch or Witter get beaten. Then he will have no choice but to throw John Murray into the mix and when that happens he will be f ucked. Murray is another who is a good technical boxer who will do very well on the domestic front but I cannot honestly see him going any further.

A lot of people are now going to say I am wrong, but look at his stable of boxers yes they have done very well in maneouvvering themselves into British title contention but how many have held onto their titles??

What I will say is if Hennessy manages to sign a couple of out of contract boxers then things can change quite rapidly but it seems a lot of his stable after showing promise are getting found out at British level.

The one thing Hennessy seems to do better than a lot is on the advertising/marketting side of things, but sometimes even that becomes a little boring, sometimes even a joke when he would rather take the piss out of W aren then praise his own boxer Carl Froch.

OK - closer to 3 years. Kessler won his title in late 2004, called out Calzaghe, offered a fight in Denmark, Calzaghe said he was scared of flying according to myth & then was seen abroad somewhere at a fight

why so low un Murray? He's still in the prospect stage. Looks like he can go well above domestic level to me.

BRADFORD switch-hitter Junior Witter defends his coveted WBC light-welterweight title against Guyanan dangerman and mandatory challenger "Vicious" Vivian Harris at the Dome in Doncaster on September 7.
Mick Hennessy promotes.
Witter won the WBC title (made vacant by Floyd Mayweather Jnr) a year ago at Alexandra Palace in north London with an emphatic decision over American southpaw DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley and retained in January with a nine-round stoppage of Mexican Arturo Morua, also at the Ally Pally. Neither man was able to cope with Witter's quick, awkward, hard-hitting style. The champion has won 20 in a row (16 early) since a points defeat to Zab Judah in a crack at the IBF title in Glasgow in June 2000 - a crack he took at a week's notice.
It's his only defeat in 38.
So former WBA champion Harris looks up against it initially but is still in his prime at 29 (Witter is knocking on a bit at 33), a 'big' light-welter at 5ft 11ins (four inches taller than Witter), smooth, good off the ropes and a sharp puncher. He's registered 18 stoppages in a 28-2-1 record. And he can travel, with two wins over German Oktay Urkal in Germany. His chin, however, is in question after Puerto Rican beanpole Carlos Maussa flattened him in seven shocking rounds in Atlantic City in June 2005 on a bill topped by Mayweather's masterclass against Arturo Gatti.
Ricky Hatton, of course, subsequently took out Maussa in nine in Sheffield.
Harris once rejected $750,000 to defend his WBA title against Hatton in Manchester in October 2004, and the Maussa defeat cost him the title eight months later for a fraction of that (the visitor, like Witter, is not a marquee fighter). He won the WBA title (interim) from Cuban banger Diosbelys Hurtado at Houston in October 2002 with a crushing second-round stoppage, saw off mandatory challenger Souleymane MBaye (now promoted by F rank Warren) on a unanimous decision in his first defence, then scored his first win over the tricky but light-punching Urkal in April 2004 (majority points), turned down the Hatton fight and returned to Germany to prove his superiority over Urkal with an 11-round stoppage. By that time, Harris was WBA champion proper (Kostya Tszyu was stripped for inactivity).
Maussa made it all academic.
The challenger's first loss, by the way, came at the hands of Ray Oliveira on a 10-round decision in the States in February 2000. The draw came with then 'hot' Philadelphian Ivan Robinson in Atlantic City a fight later.
Born in Guyana, living in Brooklyn, Harris has bounced back from Maussa with three solid wins to secure this shot, including a four-knockdown massacre of faded former lightweight star Stevie Johnston last year. He poses a real threat to Witter - if he can tag him. The flashy champion, trained by the Ingles, is surely the most unorthodox opponent Harris will ever have encountered - even Hatton has never really fancied 12 rounds with the tricky Yorkshireman. Witter's speed, switch-hitting skills and undoubted menace make him the proverbial nightmare. On home soil, he has to be fancied.
