Allan Vester-Emmanuel Burton
I was just looking at one of my favorite blood & guts fighters records.
Emmanuel Augustas (AKA)Emmanuel Burton.
Then I seen that on his fight with Allan Vester on 6-25-99
you have a KO 12 for Vester.
That is correct but it is very apperent that Augustas took a dive.
Matter of fact I watch the fight again and Augustas was playing the whole fight and giving Vester all sorts of trouble, then in the 12th with 5 seconds on the clock Vester land a little jab combo and Augustas just flops down on his back.and he was grinning.
Then gets right up pats Vester on the back and still smiles.
Please look more into this.
Or just put apparent dive on that fight.
Keep Punching

Here are two reports on the fight.
Subject: Results
From: "Daniel Van de Wiele" <[email protected]>
June 25, Aarhus, DEN, Botanisk Have, est 700, A.V. Sportpromotion
Allan Vester, 139, Den KO 12 Emanuel Burton, 137,75, USA
Vester, 11-0, won the IBF/INC 140 lb with a KO in the 12th and final round
as the clowning, showboating, moody Emanuel Burton, clearly behind on all three judge´s cards, threw himself to the canvas and allowed the referee to count him out as the bell rang. The local hero did score with a light right but it was clearly not a knockdown and Burton should perhaps have been disqualified instead.
It was a fight that sort of never happend.
Still green, Vester boxed on the move landing with light combos and missing with many while Burton just clowned, led the cheering and blew many rounds by simply doing nothing.
In the rounds he did work he wasn´t very impressive but won those rounds easily. At no time did he open up. And, yes, the word "fix" could be heard whispered at ringside. Burton´s non-performance was simply too much to watch. Early he was funny but soon he got frustrated/pissed off/whatever and had a point deducted for his antics in the sixth.
Referee Remerio Ruggiere was indeed a little bit nice to the house fighter but Burton, who seemed to be in fine shape, can only blame himself. It´s now back to being opponent again.
For Allan ... well, let´s hope he´s allowed to mature for a year or two now. The big boys will make mincemeat of him.
Well, Burton was a big boy in my eyes before the fight but this performance must rate along with Tim Witherspoon´s against Brian Nielsen but while Tim is washed up Burton should be at his peak - what a
waste of talent!
Unknown Vester upsets Burton
By Claus Jensen <[email protected]>
In advance it seemed like totally unknown Allan Vester was way
overmatched by IBF #4 ranked contender Emanuel Burton.
As it turned out Burton decided to spend most of the fight making fun of Allan Vester and forgetting to actually hit him. That was Vester's chance.
The dane showed brave and excellent counter attacking, but was still hit by some divebombs from Burton. However non of the fighters were ever seriously in trouble. I had Vester in front by only one point before the 12th and final round.
Then something weird happened. With only a few seconds left
Vester connected with a couple of soft punches and Burton fell to the
canvas as if he had been shot dead. What is this ? Has he been paid to
take a dive ? The crowd was stunned and in doubt. Was this the end ?
Burton got up on the count of 10 and the referee waved the fight off,
because the bell cannot save a fighter.
Burton went to Vester's corner without looking hurt at all, and he raised Vester's arm to show the crowd who was the winner. Somehow this smells - but we are still awaiting comments from Emauel Burton himself. This was his first loss in 11 fights and he lost the IBF Intercontinental Juniorwelterweight belt he won by stopping british prospect Jonathan Thraxton in September 1998.
This loss will probably also ruin his ranking as #4 by the IBF.

Thanks for the report.
it was dead on.
since I had posted this yesterday, I have watched it 6 more times
let me say this one more time
PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS.
the fact that if it is noted on his record that it may have been a dive,
will actually look better than just having him being koed in 12 against
a bum like Vester.
kEEP PUNCHING
Again thanks for the report

It will look better on his record that it says he is probably a criminal? It was undoubtedly a disgrace of a fight and no doubt any sane person would suspect foul play. BUT!!! If somebody writes that "Burton probably took a dive" he could sue the page! It is illegal in most countries to make that kind of statements. So it would be a good idea not to write it.

No Jens.
I am not saying just notate on his record that it was a dive.
I am not that stupid,I happen to know the fight game very well
and about burton suing, I dont think it is possible to sue by putting suspected dive on his record, from a legal prespective.Im just saying that they need to look into it and put a description of the fight under the result on his record.
so the mainstream fans , the people who do not have access to see the fight , do not think that burton just got KOed by bum vester.
it will look better on his record to see actually what happened rather than just having a KO for vester.
do you agree

Thank you blue.
For bringing some closure to this touchy subject.
I just want fans of his that do not have access to see the fight,
to know a few details, and relize that he wasnt knocked out cold by Vester.
Again I thank you.
Keep Punching

P.S.
To the editor that didnt want to comply
I understand your judgement AND RESPECT IT.
I will be willing to mail you a copy of the fight FREE,
just to prove my theory.
again thank you also

For me, it’s a tough call as I have ignored more than one request of this kind before.
But the comment I entered is made by a well known referee reporting on the fight.
It is description of the final ending.
He does not say anything about taking a dive nor does it change the official decision.
It is actually not much different than the comment "controversial decision" or scoring a knockdown.
Coming from a fan's point of view, it does put both boxers’ record in perspective. 8)
At this point I wash my hands of the matter and leave to do or not to do, to U.
