I've seen Wales fall at the last hurdle so many times ....... but surely we can do it this time.

I'm sick of hearing how this could be the first time that Wales have qualified for a major football championship since the 1958 World Cup. Am I the only person who remembers Wales reaching the quarter-finals of the 1976 European Champs where we were knocked out by Yugoslavia?

We just clobbered the Scottish of McBertie with 6-0, it could have been 10-0 with a little more luck.
Once again we showed on a good night we belong to the top-5 of the world.

No upset in Wales unfortunately

And Wales, Wales, always so close, yet so far...They're the Quick Tillis of football.

Not that any of you boys should care but Peru managed a courageous 1-1 tie with Brazil for the WC qualif. and as we speak are playing in Ecuador in Quito. 16 min, still 0-0

Yeah congrats on that draw Broncano, the match was on Sky TV but the potential exciement overcame me and i decided against watching it! I hear Nobby Solano got the equaliser?

Yeah Nobby (Nol for us) got the equaliser, but sadly he drew a yellow card and is not playing against Ecuador. We have to rely on Pizarro (Bayern) and Mendoza (Brugge) for the scoring now.. 37 min still 0-0.

Was in Cardiff, still upset :( :( :(

We were outplayed over the two legs, but unfortunately one of the premiership leading players (Craig Bellamy - who's a bit handy if the reports about him a correct) hasn't been fit for a while and we missed him over the run in. I know he played in all of the major qualifying games. But its been clear that in the home games against Italy, Sebia and Finland he hasn't been fit.

Oh and John Hartson has NEVER been fit.

Gutted.

Out of interest do you want England to do well in Euro 2004 or will you be supporting whoever England are playing? My experience with the Celts is they would rather see German, France or even Outer Mongolia win rather than England, especially when playing rugby, which provokes another question England or Australia?

For me - it works that way with the Rugby, not to the same extent with the football. I would like to see the other home nations whoop you lot at footie, but would support you against the other nations.

Rugby, I just want any team to beat you. Its the public schoolboy accents of the English Rugby team. And their posh surnames - i.e. De Glanville, Luger, Lewsey, Guscott, Simpson-Daniel - I mean what kind of surnames are these.

You do have a point!!

Wales also missed Simon Davies too, when he was in scintillating form this time last year when you beat Italy, he and Bellamy were more important than Giggs IMO.

Simon Davies - very good player from my neck of the woods. Indeed, he was the year below me in school and still sometimes comes down druing the off season. Seems to have burned himself out recently, I know he's worried about his form in 2003 and I think its no coincidence that when he lost form, so did Spurs. He is essential to that team, as is Bellamy is to Newcastle. I think both players would have made a few apparences for England although probably wouldn't be regulars (Bellamy would be a squad regular IMO).

I think both would be there or thereabouts. Bellamy's speed would get him a few chances, Davies would have it tougher because he plays on the right, a position occupied by some Beckham bloke.

I'm a big Spurs fan so I'm keen to see Davies return to fitness and then to form, maybe this abscence through injury will actually do him a favour and freshen him up a bit. Davies and Carr on the right for Spurs is as formidable as any right side in the Premiership.

I have been very impressed with Robert Earnshaw this season his very quick and he has got an eye for goal, I'm an Albion fan so I keep an eye on the First Division.
Do you know wether Ryan Giggs had the option to play for England?
Alot of my mates seem to think he did, but I am sure I read something that saud he played for England Schoolboys because he was at school in England, but never had the option to play for Englands first team

Yes he did under the name of Ryan Wilson. Played in the same England schoolboys team as Nick Barmby.

I know he says he is proud to be Welsh and all that but I really wish Ferguson had taken him to one side when he was 18 and advised him to wait a year or two before choosing his international allegiance. It's a realy pity a player of his calibre can't play in big international tournaments.

With the problems England have had over the years o nthe left side just imagine if we'd had Giggs there, it would have been beautiful and could have been the difference between the quarters/semis and final/winners.

Ryan had no option but to play for Wales. He was born in Wales and both his parents were Welsh. He couldn't have played for Wales, and he couldn't have played for Welsh schoolboys.

However, Michael Owen and Owen Hagreeves both could have played for Wales.

I always thought I'd actually read interviews with Giggs where he stated he had the choice? I know his father played rugby for Wales didn't he? Cliff Wilson? I'm sure they could have found a way round it, if you are resident in a country for 5 years I think you can play for that country, Giggs could have been playign for us by the age of 22!

Owen Hargreaves could have played for Germany or Canada too!
