our match making skills : find enzo a new fight,
lets see if we can find enzo macc a new fight,
Lets see if the BBBoC can see sense and accept Castro as a worthy opponent.
Boxrec have Castro ranked 18 at Light Heavy, and Maccrinelli ranked 30 at Cruiser.
Yet the BBBoC don't seem him as a worthy challenger.
However, Kirsten was a worthy challenger for this very title even though he ranked 99 posistions below Castro, according to boxrec. Yes, that is a lightheavy also.
WTF???

I'm with stu, I don't understand why Castro was turned down by the BBBoC.
I know they gave some half arsed reason for it, but it didnt really make any sense.
Do the BBBoC have the final say on opponents for any type of championship fight, even if the said fighter is in a particular governing bodys top 10-15?

I know what youy're saying, Kilburn. I feel he has. He's on a winning run (which is more than Enzo's new title opponent is), and lost a desperately close fight to current British and Commonwealth champ Mark Hobson in a 10-rounder. He floored Hobson twice. He's a genuine dark horse.Kilburn wrote:Trouble is has Swaby done enough to earn a crack at the cruiserweight championship of the world?
I did wonder at your proclamation of the WBU as a world title. I was a bit slow there.Kilburn wrote:I was being more sarcastic than anything Bennie, personally I'd love to see a rematch with Enzo & Swaby but you get the feeling Sky wouldn't accept a guy with so many losses as a challenger for one of their world titles, as fake as they are.

It's insane that the BBBofC turned down Castro.
The man got only stopped once and gave a good showing against banger Briggs and a competitive fight to Jirov.
He could take Maccarinelli the distance, just what he needs, rounds and time to improve his defense.
If he knocks this guy out in 5, what has he learned?
