What happen to Alfonso Zamora?

Post by TonyJ »

What ever happen to this KO artist, at the begining of his Career he seemed as if he was headed towards greatness leading up to his battle with Zarate he was 29-0-29KO's in what many consider the most anticipated Bantamweight fight of all time, but after he was crushed in 4 aginst Zarate his career rapidly when to a downslide although considering he was still in his prime.

Unfortunatley i only have two fights of him the one agianst Zarate and one of his last fight against a fighter by the name of Eddie Logan who KO'ed him in 9 rounds, the question is doesn anyone have any info on him? and what fights would you recomend of his beside the two just mentioned?

He won a fortune on the lottery in Mexico and didn't need to continue fighting. He now trains fighters I believe, as a hobby. He was a phenomenal puncher. His two-round knockout of Eusebio Pedroza is one of those results that defies belief.

I don't have any fights of his I'm afraid. I just remember his fights at the time. He won a silver medal in the 1972 Olympics if my memory serves me correctly, and later had his fabulous battle of the Z-men with Zarate. He was never the same after that. I think he lost a lot of his confidence. But winning the lottery would have restored that I'm sure.

Thanks for that fantastic link, Broncano.
Just a general question I'd like to ask. When I'm watching the fights, the action freezes every 10 seconds or so. It's so annoying to have to sit through some fantastic action in a stop-start fashion. Does anyone else have this problem?
