Downs
Downs must have really struggled for a 1 point win over Concepcion. I feel better about my Riley upset pick at that weight now.

I hate when they don't allow videotapes and yet you can't buy a tape or DVD. Hatley v. Thurman was very exciting at the US Championships with both guys tasting the canvas and getting rocked a few more times. I'm sure a rematch would be more of the same.ringsidemike wrote:NBC owns the tournament.. not allowed to film the ring.. worse tho, is that they arent taping these matches...
Andrade showed his experience far outclassed his opponent, getting an RSC on points. Looked dominant and not even showing whole arsenal..
Thurman can swin for the fences.. Kid has major power.. No jabs, but when he caught his opponent flush, he was rocked, and after 8 count, quickly went for kill and finish his foe off.
Hatley was chopping down Campbell who had big height advantage. Hatley's overhands were landing early in bout. Campbell turned it into rough match with tactics and even scored an 8 count, but was outpointed by seeming wide margin. Hatley looked a bit sloppy to me.. Hatley-Thurman would be exciting if they meet.

Dominique tried to jab and circle, and was pretty effective throughout the 2nd round. But Thurman is powerful and applies alot of pressure.the_boxer wrote:HOW DID DOMQNUIE AND THURMAN GO UNTILL HE GOT CAUGHT WAS DOMQNUIE BOXING WELL
Dolton tried doubling and tripling his jab, but Thurman just doesnt respect the jab at all, maybe because he doesnt throw many himself.

Holy crap. The Pagan-Caferro fight Pagan won by 8 points; it sounded like the Hylow fight was closer but he won by 22 points. That is some...interesting scoring, to say the least. Or was it exciting but one sided?ringsidemike wrote:125 lbs

Pagan
I need Pagan to come through as a sleeper pick for me as I have a couple guys already in the loser's bracket and it's a long way back.

Dolton needed to drop a hard right behind the jab to gain Thurman's respect otherwise he will just swing for the fence. Some good footwork would have helped too.ringsidemike wrote:Dominique tried to jab and circle, and was pretty effective throughout the 2nd round. Rios over DiPace in a good contest. Rios scored a couple of 8 counts and had a vocal crowd support. Phone booth type fight.
Russell-Clark started as a cautious chess match... still in prog, but Russell much better counter puncher off of Clarks missed hooks. I think both are nervous about elimination...
