Anyone know realistically the chances of getting hold of tickets?

I think it's fair to say that win or lose Hatton has now gone 'all the way' with this fight.

odds are not exactly on your side...but i dont think ricky will get "completely embarrassed" but his chances of winning are not great, so it's best to go into this fight with a bit of caution!! :TU:

i know i am going in with a cautious attitude and i'm a mayweather fan!! :TU:
I think most of us are aware that the odds are not on Hatton's side but I also do not think he will get embarrassed. I personally think he will lose (although come the night of the fight my heart will have taken over and I will be convinced he will smash the granny out of him) but I think that most of us are just really looking forward to an intriguing clash of styles.

Hats off to both fighters, Hatton for calling him out and Mayweather for agreeing. Makes a refreshing change in an era when a lot of boxers (or maybe I should say promoters) swerve the very biggest of fights just to protect their fighters "record" and yes I am looking more to Hatton than PBF on that one.

i agree with you mate... and yet "search" still can't "find" a single reason to give Hatton any credit for taking the fight... it makes me laugh though because you just know the same people praying that Hatton gets shown up here are the ones that had to cry themselves to sleep the night Ricky stopped Tszyu... :D

surely if hatton is to win it will have to be by stoppage there is no way he can outbox pbf over 12. i would love to see the hitman do it, but in reality i think he is going to get outboxed and cut up.

come on ricky.

oh...and excuse my absense from the forum for a while, been on holiday to cyprus and moved house, still waiting for my broadband to be connected. hope you are all ok.

Don't agree he will have to stop him - he can outwork him, if not outbox him.

Are cuts such a major problem with Hatton these days? Ok earlier on in his career he was cut to ribbons but since the (plastic) surgery it appears a lot tougher. Ok he cut up against Maussa but that was due to a clash of heads rather than punches.

Now I know PBF is deadly accurate and his slashing punches may cause problems but I don't really think it is such a major issue as it was earlier in his career, yet it seems that every fight he has people are always harking on about him cutting up.

I've never known a fight to split opinion like this one.

I've got my flights and accomodation booked for Vegas. 7 nights in the luxor. £550.

Just got to get those tickets now!

actualy he hasn't been cut by a punch for YEARS!! he has had plastic surgery on his eye area which sorted the problem and butts have cut him a couple of times but he hasn't been split open by a fist since i think Vince Phillips in 2003.

I doubt Ricky's pressure will work as well.

He just dives In eating shots on the way, then holds and goes to the body or rough house tatics.

Leaving his chin open like even though he has a good chin will cost him.

No one can be sure which way it'll go, just look at the Castillo - Mayweather fight, Castillo won that fight imo and many others, so surely it's not out of the question Hatton can do as good a job as Castillo did.

This is my point exactly, people still keep bringing up about Hatton getting cut when in reality it hasn't happened through punches in years.

I personally think Mayweather will win comfortably on points, HOWEVER, the way to beat PBF is to pressure him from start to finish which Hatton is capable of doing. DLH almost did it and in my opinion Hatton is a better pressure fighter.

We will wait and see.

not a lot of people know this (although i'm not sure why...) but in the Thaxton fight Hatton had VERY bad cuts and his corner in their haste did the usualvaseline smothering jobbie and sent him out to work again and luckily he continued the fight and wasn't reckless and won the points decision, but what happened was that when the cuts healed up there as still some vaseline in there. Over time it solidified and became hard and sharp so each fight after the Thaxton fight he would get split open quite easily. After it happened a few times they realised there must be a problem so surgery was performed and he hasn't been cut by a punch since! and then in the Maussa fight he had both eyes split open by head and shoulder clashes and again had surgery afterwards to strengthen the eye area. Obviously cuts could still be a problem but i'd say its no more a problem for Hatton than Mayweather breaking his hand is - i'd say they are pretty much the same probablility.

That's right. Ricky explains this in his autobiography. :TU:

Wasn't Castillo's pressure tactics different to Ricky's though?
