RTE just showed an extract from the post fight press conference.

Martinez's camp said they would be happy to come back and fight in Ireland, if against Dunne then so be it.

Sounds like there's a rematch there if Dunne wants it. Hobson probably realises there is money in milking the Irish cow. Dunne didn't seem too responsive though.

I think Martinez could sell in Ireland , all the people here have seen of him is that he's a destroyer of men(well that's what he looked like while demolishing Dunne) . People in Ireland would watch Martinez again if he was on tv .

I've been posted my views on plenty of forums now so am too tired to give a full account but simply Dunne's chin isn't up to world level , his defence can be leaky and he was caught cold by a man who seems a very good puncher .

I'd certainly be interested in seeing Martinez again to see what he really has , Pickering would make a nice test for him .

I think it was actually 1 min. and 26 secs. (86 secs.). I was very impressed with Martinez and, it may be premature, but I can see him as a world star in the next few years. Apparently, he was 40-0 (3 KOs) as an amateur! Although we'd all love to see Brits coming through at world level, for me - and for the future of boxing - it's great to see real talent coming through, of whatever nationality. In the last month or so, this has been Jorge Linares and, now, Kiko Martinez. These guys might provide us with the Barrera-Morales, Vasquez-Marquez-type classics in a few years' time. It's all good.

there's definite reaon to be enthusiastic about foreign guys like Martinez.

Hopefully promoters will start to see the value of these fighters. Maybe Hobson will be a promoter who really taps into this, the way that the Canadian promoters are mastering. Aside from Hatton and Woods, Hobson doesn't have a heck of a lot of British talent. Encouragingly, he did go after Oganov.

I do get fed up of poncey, flash homeboys who fail to live up to big hype or get babied in world title "fights" that get an E or F grade in Ring magazine.

We'll have twice as many world class fighters if promoters master the art of promoting foreign fighters.

He did look the business didnt he. I feel for Dunne, he is a massive talent but his chin was smashed to bits there.

Im going to be keeping a close eye on Martinez from now on.

I dont feel that performance was a once off i think Kiko would do that again to Dunne no problem..... Bernard has no defence and when it came to the crunch against quality opposition he was found out.

I'd love Bernard not to rebuild and go straight into a rematch but im tellin ye now that guy Kiko could mame Bernard.

keeping my eye on him for some time......caught my eye when i saw he was stopping opponents of Mitchell and Pickering a lot more quickly than what they could manage....very impressed with him against Dunne....although i am surprised Dunne was caught so early, he should have known what to expect

Martinez did look good on Friday, but i wouldn't go on to say he's a world champion in waiting, there's alot of space between euro and world titles.
Before Fridays fight Martinez's best wins were against Bouaita, Bikai and Torres. And all those were on points, so that could suggest he just caught Dunne cold. That his power might be slightly over rated.
Time will tell.

Who/where did Martinez fight on Friday? 2 fights in 24 hours is some going although I suppose if they both ended in the 1st then he didn't need much recovery time in between fights.
