Morales vs Chavez.

Post by stujones »

Sounds like Eric Morales and Jesus Chavez will square off for the WBC Super Featherweight championship on the 28th February at the MGM Grand.

This, of course is good news (and expected) for the winner of the WBC Featherweight title rematch between Inchin Chi and Michael Brodie, as it would appear unlikely that Morales will hold him Champion Ermertius (spelling?) belt - and therefore the Brodie vs Chi winner will be unlikely to face him.

Also, as Pacquiao beat Barrera (remember the winner was supposed to fight the Brodie vs Chi winner) it would appear that Pacquiao may have to face Barrera again, before challenging for the WBC title.

Therefore, Chi or Brodie may be allowed to make a voluntary defence prior to facing the toughest of opposition.

I think we will see the best of Morales at super-feather. He was almost unstoppable when dead at the weight at super-bantam & feather IMO, now he will be truly unstoppable & stamp his place among the all time greats!

If the fight happens Morales will stop Chavez in the later rounds, and it should be good while it lasts

It will be an excellent fight. Chavez is vastly improving and despite Morales' excellent performance last time out you do have to worry about his punch power at the higher weight.

Having said that I would go with a late Morales win, in a fight of the year certainty.
