Plymouth Cosmo Club circa 1915

Came across a new bout for Scots heavyweight Dan McGoldrick. Seems there was considerable activity around the Plymouth (England) area in 1914-1915. Anyone have access to newspapers from that city? Apparently sometime before March 1st, 1915 McGoldrick won over Arthur Pelkey for one. There were likely a number of significant bouts there during the 1913-1915 era.

I guess as Plymnouth was a major port, with Army and Navy based there and the war kicking off, boxing events would have been rammed.

Do you know if the Plymouth Cosmo Club still exists? If so, what name it goes under now..

The local papers are the Evening Herald and the Western Morning News. Not sure if the Herald would've been about at that time.

The Cosmo Club isn't about under that name anymore. There's a good chance that it would've either been in the centre of the city, or in Devonport (by the Dockyard). Both areas were devastated in the Blitz, so there's a chance the building isn't even standing anymore.

It was officially known as the Cosmopolitain Club. No idea when it vanished. If there are any local history buffs here you might like to dig around the local library for microfilmed copies of the local paper from those days and record what cards took place in the 1913-1915 era.
