Ask Joe Calzaghe a question...

Post by bennie »

I see allegedly's site is giving fans the chance to ask Joe Calzaghe a question. Somebody called Gareth Collins has said on the thread: "Why haven't you ever fought in America? Surely it would be better to fight someone like Howard Eastman than the Tocker Pudwells of the world?? Hope you land a big fight soon!!"
Joe's answer would be: next year, next year and next year.

He does. Both Calzaghe and Hatton are millionaires and they're not even genuine world champs.

Calzaghe will only see the questions Warren cares to put his way...

expect published answers to such drivel as;

"How have you managed to rule the division for so long Joe?" etc.

"How in the world did you manage to beat Robin Reid so well whilst suffering from the Plague, Joe? Also, your demolition of Miguel Jiminez with two broken hands looked so easy! A really tough, world class opponent like that, and you demolished him! With two broken hands!"

"Joe, why don't people see that the time you took off this year wasn't your fault, and you were raring to get back in the ring and knock out cold Bernard Hopkins in the first round to get a shot at Roy Jones and dominate him?"

"When you slipped against Mitchell, why did the ref rule it as a knockdown?"

I am gonna ask him if he knows why he's been a fraud for so long, and if he really believes he's a genuine champion.

I very much doubt Hatton is a millionaire yet, don't forget he only gets relatively small purse from the world boxing union, Showtime & Warren. Maybe £50k max per fight.

Calzaghe must be by now, but Hatton needs a major title against a legitimate champion or contendor. A convincing win against Tackie will secure much bigger pay days for Ricky.

How do you know that Hatton only gets 50k a defence, are you his accountant? Seeing as there are let's say 12,000 people per fight, let's say paying an average ticket price of 35 quid, plus Sky TV money, plus
Showtime money, do the math, Hatton would have to be fornicating stupid to be getting paid only 50k a fight, seeing as the live gate alone would generate in the region of almost 500,000, the WBU only get their sanctioning fee, which could be as much as 50k I suppose.

If each fight generates only the live gate, so around 500k, then Hatton would be doing very badly iindeed to be getting only 10% of that after expenses.

Hatton was already a millionaire by May 2001.

There seems to be an awful lot of Warren bitching, but his website is doing the business.

I enjoy listening to the interviews and the news is always informative and up to date.

Is there any other website which offer you audio interviews with boxers free of charge?

......and before you ask no I am not a SN employee
