Bookmaker Victor Chandler believe that Scott Harrison's rematch with Mexico's Manuel Medina could backfire with disastrous consequences. Glaswegian Harrison, who was surprisingly outpointed by 32-year-old Medina in July, gets the chance to exact revenge in Saturday's WBO featherweight title rematch - but another loss will ask serious questions about the 26-year-old's future in the ring.
"Where will he go from here if he loses?" is the question boxing odds man Colm Andrew poses for Harrison's supporters.
Scottish boxing took a heavy blow in October when Alex Arthur was beaten inside five rounds by Michael Gomez and another Scottish loss would come as no surprise to the odds man.
"Harrison again starts as favourite but it is a risky policy by his management team to pitch him back in with Medina straight away because the wily old pro did a real number on him in their last fight.
"And in boxing if someone's got your number, they've got your number," said Andrew.
In July Medina was 11/2 to beat Harrison but the odds man revealed that fight punters can expect to see much shorter odds this time around about the man from Tijuana.
"Before they first met Medina looked like a credible yet easily beatable opponent but the fact that he was able to outbox and dominate Harrison raises serious questions about the Scot.
"Medina's price will be a good deal smaller for Saturday's fight."
