Dawson Vs Geale

Post by Sweet P »

I just read they are fighting for the IBO title, Im not sure of dates but i really hope this fight comes off. I would have picked Geale to win but after Dawsons last fight im going to have to back the Perth boy by KO in 6 rounds.

What the hell. At least it will mean more than that WBF crap Shannon Taylor and Sonny Michael Angelo are fighting for.

Always thought Dawson was a real talent, but his last result even shocked me. Geale has been dropped by plenty less talented than The Rock and I think Dawson could stop him around 4 or 5, but basically whenever he catches him

I was never that convinced with DD as a boxer, i trained at the same MuayThai gym about 6-7 years ago and he was a machine using his feet and hands but i didnt think he would be this good as a Boxer.
He has proved me wrong though and looks to be making as big an impact at Boxing as he did in the kickboxing ring.

I belive Geale will run for 8 rounds b-cuz there is no way he would want to stand toe to toe with Dawson. Geales never did 12 rounds and Im sure he will be KTFO in 9th. Dawson is a punching machine he wont slow down were as Geale tends to slow down after the 6th rnd.

Geale has talent, But Dawson has experience in title fights(k/boxing etc + K1)

Fights like this is what has been missing in Aus boxing for some time (beside Mundine+Green) I would liketo see more match ups like this insted of mismatches.

Robbie Bryant has been in the ring with both (he has an amateur points loss to Geale, and has sparred with Dawson on several occasions. I haven't asked him who he thought was better, but he did tell me that he thought Dawson was much better than Shannon Taylor.

I haven't actually seen Geale fight, but at this point in time I would tip Dawson to win.

Aussie v Aussie

You're right convict. I think we will start seeing some quality all-Aussie match-ups. Dawson-Solopov was a start.

I totally agree, If only our matchmakers could get the funds to put together these sorts of fights on a regular basis.

Good fight! Hope it really happens... I have been a fan of Dawson and Geale for a while now. I still haven't seen Dawson Solopov (if anyone a link please post it!!!). But based on the result I have to favour Dawson (probably wouldn't have before). I just really hope we can see it!!! Should be Awesome!!!

They are both unbeaten, and have both beaten some good fighters. It should be a beauty.
