McCall cried before Bruno and was a tearful guy.
He was already a nutter, he was a crackhead, but he was taking flush right uppercuts and realised he couldn't defend against them and obviously didn't want to keep taking those chin wrenching shots.
You have to give lewis credit for landing such hard shots too.
McCall got in excellent shape for their first fight. Don King actually gave him adequate time to prepare, and gave him special treatment for that first fight, because he was desperate to get control of Lewis' belt. Prior to that, McCall was always just the sparring partner.
McCall was not even attempting to defend himself, if you cannot accept that he shouldn't have been in the ring that night AB, then fair enough, but it seems glaringly obvious that he was out of his mind that night.
In fact, wasn't he actually in a rehab facility not long before the fight?
