Thanks, ABA, but I don't understand how old tapes of boxers now pro addresses the original request for current amateurs possibly headed to the 2008 Olympics. Could you possibly start another thread so current and past are separated? Thanks.

I wouldn't mind seeing a separate thread with the older videos and one that could also be added to, if you have more. I do think they are interesting, even if not relevant to the 2008 Olympics. But I wouldn't want to split the threads without your okay.

Does anyone have a video of Ricondeaux KO'ing the Russian Ali Aliyev in the '06 World (Nations) Cup? How bout the +91kg bout?

The finals of Russia vs Cuba in the '06 World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan was unbelievable. It was 5-5 going into the superheavyweight bout. The Cuban Odlanier Solis lost the 1st two rounds and was still behind at the end of the 3rd but he hurt the Russian Islam Timurziyev at the end of the 3rd. The Cuban team was going wild yealling for Solis between rounds. Solis comes out and stops Timurziyev in the 4th.

Thanks. I did notice that one after I asked. As for Rigo vs Warren, Warren was only down 4 points going into the last round but for some reason he thought he was in the lead and stayed away from him in the last round. I could't believe it. Rigo was happy to let him run as he was in the lead. He was probably thinking what is this guy doing? The 1st three rounds were good though and you have to remember, Warren is a 51kg boxer but decided to box up at 54kg for the PAL tournament that was used as the quailifier for the US team that went to the World Cup.
I think Rigo was weak at 54kg. I saw him in Rio at the initial weigh-in before the draw. It took him up to the time limit to make the weight. He was really skinny. Maybe his heart wasn't in it as he knew he would be making a run for it or he really knew he couldn't make the weight the day he was scheduled to box and was scared and made the run. Either way, if he turned pro, I was predicting he would jump up to feather or lightweight.
