Showtime is planning a double-bill on December 1 featuring header featuring Antonio Tarver defending his IBO light-heavyweight title against Danny Green.
The co-feature will have WBC junior middleweight champ Vernon Forrest defending the title against his mandatory, Michele Piccirillo.sounds like danny will be fighting in the usa???

Good luck to Danny. It is a fairly minor title, but it would be a start.

Brilliant news! I have been hanging out for this for a long time!

Would have been great if this were in Perth, but I'd be getting the fight on PPV anyway, so it doesn't make much of a difference for me. Mind you, it's going to be harder to get a decision in the US, so Danny will have to put on a good performance.

This is a very winnable fight for Green IMO. Remember, Tarver just about squeaked past the ordinary Elvir Muriqi on an MD in June.

Fancy seeing you here!

If Green wants to really make a mark on the division this is a fight he must win. As you say Taver was ordinary in his last fight and it would seem he is ripe for the picking. I'm not saying it will be easy for Green, I'm sure Taver will come to fight but Green should win.

I am really pumped for this fight! Hope it actually comes off! :TU: :box:

Danny will belt the hell out of Tarver, then hopefully Woods. He is a different fighter now to when he lost in Germany

where you getting this info? nothing is filtering out of perth?

obviously I am a green fan but don't underestimate Tarver. ibo or xyz or abc this fights is huge as he is still recognised as the premier light heavy out there.

There's not a whole lot of info out there yet, but I suppose it will arrive soon. Green should beat Tarver based on current form and their styles. I disagree that Tarver is recognised as the premier light heavy. That would be either Bernard Hopkins or Chad Dawson. Bernard beat Tarver very convincingly, and in my opinion, Dawson would beat Hopkins.

I cant pick Green for this fight, I dont think he has the tools to beat Tarver and unless Tarver decides to stand and trade i think he will box his way to a UD.
Dont get me wrong i am a huge Green fan and really hope he can win i just think that Tarver is a step above Green and Green has failed at every hurdle he has faced.

I know exactly what you mean, but I have this weird cycle where I keeping losing, then renewing my faith in Danny Green. I was shocked when he lost to Beyer in their second fight, and almost gave up on him then. I was rooting for Green against Mundine, but I thought Mundine would win, right from when the fight was announced. The score was wider than I had expected, but the result the same. Tarver looked poor against Hopkins, and apparently not great in his most recent fight. To be honest, no result would surprise me in this fight, Green is easy to hit and Tarver has good power, so a Tarver KO is feasible. Tarver has a good chin, but Green has great power, so especially if he is as faded as he seems, a Green KO is not unlikely. If it goes down to points (which I think is a bit more likely than a TKO/KO) I think it could go to either fighter, although Tarver is likely to get the home advantage. It all depends on how much off his best Tarver is.

Yeah Jezza i hope your right and he does win, Ive been to every fight he has had in Perth and i thought he would become the next big thing at 168 the Beyer fight and Mundine fight have made me realise that Green isnt good against top fighters but makes short work of B level fighters :(

I can't see Green getting KO'd, as far as I remember he has only ever been down once and that was a flash knockdown against Omar Gonzales. Yes Taver KO'd Jones Jr but that was the luckiest, close your eyes and throw, punch I have ever seen. Outboxed. Maybe, especially if Green isn't aggressive and Taver hasn't slipped as much as it appears. But you're right, I wouldn't really be surprised by any outcome.

Green has a good chin but Tarver has more power than anyone he has faced, I dont think Green would be stopped but he could easily be out boxed by Tarver.
