Can;t the fans just order the tickets directly from the MGM?

Yes. Or from US agencies. My advice would be to acquire tickets through US sources. Get on google and find a good LA ticket agency, and do it through them. With enough cash, you can ALWAYS get one.

Man City are away at Spurs that day, I think that helps rather than hinders.

Someone would also be advised to put on Gomez, Jennings etc as a card at the venue, then lower big screens.....
