Ali-Jimmy Young Bulletin

Post by Jaclem »

There are now four people who think ali won that fight.. the three judges s and my son...who argues with me whenever he catches me (as he did here) saying young did.

I knew you'd all be interested.

Make that 5, I do too!.....Young was just too negative to win the fight..... just as Norton was later on..... it's damn close sure and Ali was overweight and in very poor form but he still done enougth to keep his title........

well.....i certainly must admit I learn a lot from this website. Five already...and I just created that thread. I'll have to readjust my calculation....as the fight was on network tv and probably seen by millions...i'm now betting there are at least THIRTY PEOPLE who think ali won. that number....including of course the five mentioned here.

(or is it six/ can't scan back that far while I'm entering this.

Try using the phone and dial a 9 then a 1 and another 1. You need to call that number if you think CLAY won that fight. You are in the minority.

That's pathetic. Your attempt to spin that into a disgusting sick remark like that exposes you for the type of person you really are. YOU SHOULD APOLOGIZE FOR THAT IGNORANT COMMENT.

Let's settle down folks. Strange how much hot blood is stirred up over a fight that hinged on defense. I only saw the fight once (live). My recollection is that Young should have gotten the nod, but there's just no way they were going to give it to him. He should have landed more to seal it. And that silly stuff where he was ducking under the ropes didn't go over well. I seem to remember that those rounds were scored 10-8. I'm planning to buy a tape of the bout as a holiday gift for myself. It's always interesting how our memory changes these old time matches.

rapid...now there's misleading nickname. a suggestion...when you read my posts...point to each letter and say it out loud. then let your ear tell you what word they most sound like. do this...and don't be embarrased to ask for help. do not do this while handling heavy equipment. after a few tries you should reach the point in which you understand that i think ALI ("Clay" was long gone by then) LOST THE FIGHT.

happy thanksgiving to you and your fellow residents at the facility.

How many of you guys who swear that Ali lost have actually seen the fight?..... I ve just watched it again and again think that Ali done enougth to keep his title... Young was just too negative to take the title.... you don't score points by ducking your head through the ropes!.... and as for dailing 911 Rapid perhaps you should think about doing that yourself as your liable to blow a gasket soon!!!......... chill out man!...     8) 8) 8)

I managed to stay awake through the 15 rounds and Young probably nicked it - but let's face it, who wants to have Jimmy Young as Champ when you can have Ali?
It'd be like having....well, Chris Byrd as champ. :D

Nothing misleading about rapid. Really don't need the help, but you should
say each letter out loud. Rapid is a word. JACLEM isn't.
Try playing scrabble on a regular basis. May help.
I'm sure your fellow residents at the facility wish you
happy thanksgiving. I wish boxing would be the main topic. The rest of this is nonsence. Oh, by the way, you operate heavy equipment. Please check my spelling. Thanks

I thought it was such a foregone conclusion that Young had won that I was in the kitchen getting something to eat when they announced the decision. I was called back into the room for the last shill, er judge's call, and could not believe my ears.

I had Ali winning too. I posted a detailed round-by-round analysis of it, but no one responded.

No one ever mentions the fact that the ref gave Young a standing 8 count, or the several times Young ducked his head through the ropes and let Ali hit him to the body. It was NOT a wipeout victory for Young by any stretch.
