VIPBoxing.com News (Gomez -V- Johannson & More ...)

Post by Stegsie »

MICHEAL GOMEZ -Faster than expected is back in a title fight and challenges Carl Johannson for the British Title on October 19th to be showcased by SKY. This is a little earlier than we anticipated but we feel the time is right and therefore we were quick to take the opportunity - the winner will box Kevin Mitchell.

MARK THOMPSON - Frank Maloney won today's purse bid for the British Welterweight eliminator with Kevin McIntyre and this will now be chief support to Jamie Moore on SKY at Wigan on the 26th October.

CARL DILCS - Has now been added to the VIP 22nd September show in Wigan as this Saturdays show in Preston where he was due to box has been cancelled.

SEAN CROMPTON - After 2 winning fights as a pro he has decided that to develop into a champion he must get the amateur background as a boxer that he missed due to a career in wrestling. He has therefore withdrawn from the Wigan show on the 22nd September.

Due to all the changes a new fight card for the 22nd September is not yet ready to post , but the show still remains an 8 fight cracker and will be posted by the end of the week with news on the next shows.

Holybejesus.... What happend to the McDonagh rematch plans.

Gomez is in the last chance saloon as it is, he needs everything to be right but its surely too soon.

Cannot wait to see it, should be a thriller. Gomez definately has a chance.

I was looking forward to Johannson - Mitchell but this could be even better. If Gomez has got his head screwed on and prepares properly he knocks Johannson out.

Warren wont let Mitchell anywhere near an on form Gomez

Stegsie.

Can you give the board some insight to Jamie Moore. Any deals in the offing? He must be getting impatient for a European or World title shot?

Looking at the ratings the only way he'll make waves on the World scene is by taking a low paid, away job with Alcine or Dzinziruk.

Dear Chaps ..will try and help as follows :-

SWEETSCIENCE - The information that the show was cancelled was incorrect , it has been put back to the 28th September.

DAVID PAYNE - Mike was training to box on the 22nd September and at a board weigh inn yesterday was 9st 8lb - he is on fire !!!

BIG PUSSY - Jamie Moore has to box a mandatory defence against Andrew Facey on the 26th October and if all goes to plan his next fight in December/January will be a big one. European or World eliminator.

Trust helps you clear a few things . Now get to Doncaster on the 19th October to see a modern day war of the roses !!!. Either one could win at any time.

sweetscience you are right mate and is dad and himself realise this now after only being at a amateur gym and seeing what amateur boxers like myslef and the other lads at are club are like. He knows deep down now he needs some good amateur ex to even have a chance of doing well in the pros and good luck to him.
