I hope Sprotty fancies the rematch, he didn't seem too keen in his post fight interview, but hes been inactive since then, so it may be a case of needs must.
Surprisingly I would have some interest in Skelton-Williams VIII if Danny can turn up in the same shape and same weight as he did against Gammer, but Dannys training is hit and miss at the best of times. According to Danny there was nobody more surprised than him when he weighed in at 16stone odd for the Gammer fight, he thought he was about 18 and a half??????

I'd personally like to see all these matches made, but it'll only mean the merry go round will continue for at least another year with the winners facing off and Warren promising the last man standing a world title shot.
Harrison beats Sprott, middle rds
Williams Skelton could go either way, williams pts if hes fit and ready.

Bedford bear Matt Skelton and Brixton Bomber Danny Williams could meet in a good old-fashioned rubber match.
Williams snatched a split decision over Skelton in a foul-filled 12-rounder in London in February 2006 but was widely outpointed when they met again in Cardiff five months later. Williams made it easy for Skelton with his weight - a whopping 20st 8lbs - and was outboxed and outpointed.
"I think Danny trained for the same kind of fight he had in February, a bit of a brawl, but he got it wrong," said promoter F rank Warren. "But you have to lift your hat off to Matt Skelton because he changed his tactics and they worked. Danny was trying to take him out with a single shot and he looked very laboured."
So 34-year-old Williams has something to prove in this one. Four stone lighter, he bounced back to win the British heavyweight crown from disappointing Welshman Scott Gammer in Neath in March (nine rounds).
Burly Skelton won the Commonwealth title with a decision over Reading's hot and cold Michael Sprott at the 02 Arena in July. He has something to prove himself after one of the dullest heavyweight title fights here in - well, five minutes. The domestic heavyweight scene stinks at the moment. Few are making their way up, and anyone can beat anyone at the 'top'. Skelton is nearly 40 but barged into 32-year-old Sprott, smothered him, biffed away in the clinches (of which there were many) and even boxed a bit when he had to. It was enough to keep him winning. Skelton has lost only to Williams in 22 fights.
Danny has lost six of his 37 fights and is horribly inconsistent, though we know he can punch. Outclassed by Julius Francis back in 1999, he destroyed Francis in a return. He flattened Mike Tyson in the States in 2004 - six months after losing to Sprott. He floored and outpointed Audley Harrison here in 2005 - but was hammered in a rematch. He shook Skelton in the 12th round of their first fight; he never got near him in the return. Clearly, you just never know which Williams is going to turn up.
Or not.
The likeable Londoner was castigated for pulling out of a first scheduled fight with Skelton in Bolton in July 2005 on the DAY of the fight. He cited flu - well, his trouser-wearing wife cited flu by mobile phone. But Warren gave him a second chance and Danny answered the critics when he stood up to the unbeaten former kickboxer to grab the win. But he was bitterly disappointing in the rematch at the Millennium Stadium last year - so overweight, he looked like he was wading after his sprightly rival, although Williams has never enjoyed chasing opponents. Then southpaw Harrison butchered Danny in three rounds and the Londoner's career looked in tatters, but he resurrected it with that decent win over the hittable Gammer.
Now Danny says he wants to prove once and for all he is better than Skelton.
But Skelton has surpassed all expectations since turning pro as a 34-year-old in September 2002. He never boxed as an amateur but, aggressive and willing, racing against the clock, crushed all his early opponents, including Alvin "Slick" Miller in 28 seconds, Neil Kirkwood in 89 seconds and the normally durable French southpaw Antoine Palatis in four (who had taken Danny the full 12). Switch-hitting Skelton is strong, ruthless, awkward and relentless. His chin is also good. When Danny rocked him in that last round - a man who flattened Tyson, remember - Matt looked shaky, and was left bleeding from the scalp, but never looked like going over. With 18 of his 21 victims stopped, his heavy-handedness is also proven. And he genuinely likes to fight.
One of the roughest, toughest heavies out there.

....I don't see an end. Best possible outcome is that somewhere in the middle of that paragraph Herbie Hide turns up and whacks them all with a fold up chair.

He would, although I'm pretty sure that if he beats JMM, he'll stay at 200lb until a straight crack at a heavy belts comes up.J wrote:you mean David haye cleans the winner of these round robins out, cos thats whats gonna happen.jomothepure wrote:Harrison fights Sprott. Most probably. I just have a feeling that if he wins he will make a defense - A defense.J wrote:cobblers he has stated win lose or draw he will move up mate.jomothepure wrote:He would, although I'm pretty sure that if he beats JMM, he'll stay at 200lb until a straight crack at a heavy belts comes up.J wrote: you mean David haye cleans the winner of these round robins out, cos thats whats gonna happen.
All the promises of title shots was all bullshit, they'll all be fighting each other STILL in another 2 years probably. Arnt you guys sick of Williams vs Skelton? I for one am, i nearly fell asleep... (twice)Horse wrote:How is it a joke?Razor wrote:3 words...
Beyond a joke...
Who else are the board going to make the mandatories?
This doesnt prove anything to me, Skelton beat the guy twice tbh. And it is a joke, look at jomos post. Its laughable.
THATS HOW ITS A JOKE.
Hopefully this time next year there will be some new faces in the domestic HW division. Harrisons the only one with enough talent to go anywhere but it looks like it'll be too late by the time he bothers to use it.
Haye and Enzo Mac will prob skip the domestic scene since its so poor and go for straight to euro level but McDermotts still young and if he can get over the blip against Skelton and get a good win over gammer he could be in the mix, then you've still got the likes of chris burton, david dolan, scott belshaw all still to mature.
Theres hope for us yet!
