Anyone see the Curtis WOodhouse documentary

there was a program on ITV last night about footballer turned boxer Woodhouse, he came accross quite well and you could see a real love for the sport in him.

The documentary however was shocking and chose to focouse on the health risks of boxing, clearly largely put together by someone who formed an opinion without realy understanding boxing.

Also in the documentary was an interview with paul ingle who looked dreadful he is realy over weight and slurs his words and says looking back on it he was treated like a dog in boxing! anyone know what he is reffering to.

Didn't Ingle say something about he wanted to delay a defence but was 'forced' to go ahead? As you allude to it was a little hard to understand exactly what he said; I'd have to watch it again.

I don't think it was over the top talking about the risks associated with boxing. It would be worse if they glossed over it. Just seeing Ingle shows you what can and does happen to some boxers.

I am in Sunny Sydney and don't follow football so I didn't know who Woodhouse was before I saw the doco. I thought he would be someone whose footballing career was over and was just trying to cash in and make a few quid from his name. I was pleasantly surprised to see he was someone who had decided he wanted to be a boxer more than a footballer and was still in his sporting prime.

Watching the clips they showed of him in action, I'd be surprised if he achieved his dream of getting to British title contention. He seemed a bit too easy to hit from what they showed but he certainly seemed determined and to have the right attitude for the pro game. Good luck to him

He's still playing non-league footaball for ushden and Diamonds. He was sent off at the weekend for his part ina mass brawl!

I think Ingle dragged a lot of weight before the Botile fight. And that after he was hurt, he said that as a health precaution, someone should have pulled him out.

slurring his words....im not surprised, the man needed emergency neuro surgery and is lucky to be alive !

His debut was on the a Khan undercard, seemed very sloppy, but what do you expect.
