Nah Harrison did what he had to do, which was get Medina out of the way, whatever it takes.
The Mexican is an absolute nightmare to fight and if you let him settle he'll have that pitty pat jab in your face all night like Chinese water torture.
He was putting the head in too.
Put Scott in with anyone who stays in front of him and he'll have a chance - even Manny Pac 8)

It was a good performance, but the dirty stuff came from both sides, Medina used his nut very cleverly in the fight indeed, as he tried to worsen the cut he created with a solid right hand.
I thought Medina was going to come on in the latter half of the fight, but the effort of
Scott did what he had to do to win, he cut the ring off a lot better, and applied his pressure better, he did look a lot stronger this time around, and the minor tactical adjustments made a big difference.
Instead of looking for perfect shots, he was hitting Medina wherever he could which was the right tactic, arms, shoulders, head, chest. wherever to prevent him settling into that rhythmn of his.
I thought Medina held his own in quite a few rounds, I had rounds 4-6 even, and he landed a lot more shots in many rounds, however this time around when Harrison connected solidly he hurt
As for Harrison going much further, I am not convinced he is adaptable enough to ever dominate the division. His strength will only get him so far and I think his lack of handspeed and ring smarts will make it very very difficult for him to beat Pacquaio, who hits a lot harder than Medina, has better handspeed than Medina, and who showed very good footwork
In short, I don't think Harrison has much of a chance at all against Pacquaio, and I do not think he will ever be the dominant fighter in the division. However, I would put him in striking distance of the top 5. If Barrera comes back and has a few fights, and Harrison continues to improve, I would like to see them fight.
Harrison v Tapia would be the next fight I would like to see, it's a fight I think Harrison can win, and it would be another great learning fight. Harrison still has some rought edges which need improving on.

Tit for Tat at worst, I didn't see what the fuss was about the head, the only deliberate butt came from Harrison.
I dunno, he had to make a brawl of it as best he could to win but I don't like it, he should have been deducted a point around about round 4 at the latest. That's not anti-Harrison bias, he was fighting dirty from the opening bell (and the round 1 kd wasn't one btw)

Dont you guys think its a bit too early to start mentioning his name with the like of Pacquaio ?
After all, he has simply reversed a defeat to a guy, miles past his best, and a match he should never have lost in the first place, and even in this reversal, at times he looked lost with the jab and movement of media, also i feel that, although an improvement, he still missed with a considerable amount. The top guy will make him pay big time.
Just look what marquez did to medina to realise why Scott is still a class away from the top guys.

Harrison performed well but he was very wild early on, throwing those long innacurate hooks which were way off target, in his last two fights Harrison seems to have lost that pin point accuracy of his punches which went hand in hand with his in your face pressure style. He was obviously on a mission but he could pay the price against a younger and fitter foe in the future if he does revert back to his tighter ways. I thought the ref was absolutely awful, i am not saying Harrison was not guilty of as much head usage as Medina that is not what concerned me, but everyime the ref broke up a clinch he had to say something. Talk about being the third man, he was desperate for attention, at times he even jumped in while punches were being thrown and the action was flowing to break it up and repremand someone for a none existent ring crime, don't want to see him again. Anyways Tapia next for me, and maybe Pacquiao at some point as well but not yet.

The only reason I mentioned Scott Harrison in the same sentence as Pacquaio, is to point out that I don't think Harrison would have much chance against him at all. He did improve on his performance, but he didn't exactly reinvent the wheel.
That's why I think Tapia would be good, Tapia has enough left to pose a few questions, and is a low risk fight, another learning fight. Harrison has got by on his power and workrate, but that won't be enough when he takes the next step up in class.

Surprisingly I see that Harrison is being given little credit for being only the fifh guy in Medina's 77 fight career to stop the five-time world champion.
It was an untidy, scrappy and tough fight but Medina was in extremely good shape in my opinion. To get off the floor so many times and fight back from the brink of defeat so often tells us the kind of condition he was in.
Harrison cut the ring off very well and aside from a quiet spell in rounds 4-6 I though he was the dominant force in this fight. I believed him last time out when he said he had a virus so perhaps the doubters will now concede that that was indeed the case.
I'm not saying he's ready to dominate the division but it would be nice to see some more credit given for a fine performance against a world class operator.

So let me get this straight McCoy. Becuase Harrison lost one and won one against Medina, we are supposed to believe that he is the best featherweight in the world. It was a good win, but Marquez didn't need two attempts to beat Medina, and did it in far more impressive and one-sided fashion, beating Medina from pillar to post and breaking him down over 7 rounds.
Harrison is probably top 5 material, but the best in the division, afraid not, not yet at any rate, he needs to add things like head movement, lateral movement, feints, rolling from the waist and shoulder, a better defence, more body work, use the jab more.
There are lots and lots of areas he can improve, and until he does, there is no way he beats Marquez or Pacquaio. On strength and workrate alone he can probably beat most other guys in the division.

When did McCoy say Harrison was the best featherweight in the world??
