Fair call, but then why not bring up this thread when these fights were on (and many agreed and were disgusted with them)... not when Ricky is fighting the P4P number 1.
bloody hell stu, they were brought up a thousand times when those fights were on....look back through threads to see that.

can i please emphesize that i think its great hatton is fighting PBF, its fantastic for british and world boxing. my annoyance is that hatton chases pounds as fast as his supporters are losing theirs !!

the opponent is awesome, the ticket allocation and subsequent prices are nothing short of robbery.

Hatton's mistakes if that's what you want to call them have nothing to do with his new promoter and everything to do with the fact that he wanted to milk things for a while to make some easy money.

Now he's done that it won't matter so much when he loses to Mayweather in December, because his pockets are already loaded.
Warren was maybe focussing on getting Hatton big fights more than Calzaghe ? Since Hatton left Calzaghe's opponents have been better than the likes of Pudwill though.

I think that Hatton didn't care what was In the contract though as long as he was getting as much money possible.

I think to be honest Warren would of got Castillo, Callazo, Urango and Maussa for him no problem. Is his dad that good of a manager? Other than Carpet shops and being a reserve player what managing experiance does he have?

Most fans have booked to go to vegas even when they are not guaranteed tickets. :o

Mmmm...... Maussa, IBF champion, becomes unified champion. Collazo, WBA 147lbs champion, becomes 2 weight world champion. Urango, IBF champion, becomes 4 belt champion.

Thats what he achieved in his first 3 fights post Tyszu. Now lets look at his last 3 fights pre Tyszu.......

Carlos Wilfredo Vilches - Micheal (the contender) Stewart & a well past it Ray Oliveria. Your point is mute mate!
Maussa scored a lucky KO over Harris and didn't even come to win Vs Hatton. Maussa was the only fair defence since Tszyu since you need the odd easy fight Inbetween.

Callazo was the normal WBA champ and only became the full one because Baldomir didn't pay the fees.

Urango was a boy compared to Hatton and got a gift Vs Rabah.

You can;'t use the belts to justify Hatton's fights when It suits some of you, when In other ways you say the belts are meaningless.

So what you are saying is amongst other people that you are happy with the 3,900 allocation.

You are happy that despite assurances, Travel Companies will be selling those tickets at inflated prices thus exploiting the goodwill and loyalty of Hatton fans by having to dig further into their pockets for what is already going to be an expensive occasion with flights and Hotels to pay for - If these companies have not got tickets how come some are already advertising the event!!!!!!!

You and others are happy that despite only having a 3,900 ticket allocation as stated in a previous press releases that over 55% of the 3,900 ticket allocation is the more expensive tickets - which need I remind you are $1000, $750, $650, $300 and $150.

You are happy like all of us that Hatton is fighting Mayweather I don't think anyone will disagree with that, it is going to be a fantastic occasion but many hundreds in fact probably thousands of Ricky Hatton fans will be coming home in debt up to their eyeballs having had to pay extorniate prices for flights but worse still due to the derisory allocation of tickets they will have no choice but to buy tickets from touts to see their hero box.
albert... are you calling punch promotions touts?? ...
Don't know what you are trying to draw me into.

My point is in this matter is that Hatton fans have been allocated less than a quarter of the total attendance.

How can that be fair.

For the thousands of Brits who will be in Vegas what I am stating they will have no choice but to seek their tickets from the touts.

If the fight fans are the ones being thought about here - whoever is in charge of this promotion - just look at the prices that some agents are charging for this fight

I can see the first one is a US based site but look at the prices!!!

Hatton/Mayweather Tickets

then there is another one which looks like a Manchester based one, states a limited amount of $1000 dollar tickets available - a lot more reasonable prices - but my point is where are the tickets coming from?

More Hatton/Mayweather tickets

And heres another one ...

More Mayweather/Hatton fight tickets

And another one ...

More Mayweather/Hatton fight tickets

and another ...

Hatton/Mayweather fight tickets

interesting prices those...

but where are they coming from if punch promotions are only getting 3900. could punch promotions have acquired more than that and then only be filtering 3900 to real fans?? surely that could not and would not happen.

or are these 'available' tickets part of the 3900 but with pumped up prices in relation to their face value?

I am not blaming Punch Promotions for the sites that are offering these tickets - yet again Rhino stop trying to twist things here - my point is if the tickets for the WHOLE promotion are going to fans or whatever then why have so many agents managed to get hold of the tickets.

im not blaming anyone, that would be a foolish and dangerous thing to do bertie, but im thinking along the same lines as you, how have these companies etc got their hands on then while hatton fans are having to produce stubs and go into a 'lucky dip' to get an allocation..

Rhino what is going on here is very wrong.

There are a lot of genuine fans who will go over to Vegas try to buy tickets at vastly inflated prices - there will be others going onto the sites I have highlighted getting well and truly mullered in their wallets judging on some of the prices.

I cannot understand why no one is bothered by all of this.

Fair enough, I know that they were and I know that you were disgusted and said your piece about them at the time. But I am really struggling to understand your point. It seems like Hatton is in a non win situation.

You have condemmed Hatton's early opponents post Warren (with some justification) so when the opponents become the bee knees you condem the allocation and prices (with some justification granted). When your in the callibre and that level, it starts to become a straight choice between the big fighters (for the big money) and the lesser fighters (for the less money).

What would you rather Ricky have done, fight the likes of Rees and Witter at the MEN. Yes, Hatton is getting the big pounds for Floyd in the states, but for me the EASY money is Rees at the MEN.

You said (or implied, appologies in advance if I have misread your post) in one of your earlier posts that allegedly stated that Hatton is more interested in the ££££ than the legacy. Well sorry, what more of a legacy defining fight can Ricky have than Mayweather in his home patch at 147. All the balance is with the P4P #1, even the fact that the promoter has a probably a bigger interest in Floyd winning than Ricky.

Yes, it sad that 10's of Thousands of Manchester fans will not go to Vegas and watch it... or go to Vegas and not get tickets. But I am sure, if they are true Hatton fans what would they rather.... tune in to Sky Box Office for this one, or go to the MEN for say £30 and watch Hatton vs Rees live. I would hope that the true Hatton fans, the ones that have followed him would chose the Sky Box Office option and UNDERSTAND that this is boxing.

Same with Joe Calzaghe, I am sure most Calzaghe fan would have rather "sacrificed" not seeing him in the flesh once if it meant it was Hopkins in the states... than see him live against a Sakio Bika style opponent.

I do think Team Hatton should clarify the situation more, in order to try and prevent British fans from being dissapointed. With that I am with you. Hatton should inform his fans how many tickets he has been allocated / how many have sold etc.

However, I don't think Hatton had any choice in the matter and for me and I am sure every Hatton fan he has made the right choice - if its between this or Gavin Rees at home with cheap tickets and 100% allocation.

The venue holds 14000 or so.
The Promotor has taken a large slice of the tickets.
The balance has been split between Hatton and PBF, resulting in 3900 tickets to Ricky /Punch Promotions.
I wouldn't mind betting that ALL of the tickets being advertised on these sites come from the Promotors allocation or PBF's allocation - if indeed the wankers have the tickets in the first place !
I can absolutely assure you that there were thousands of tickets offered for sale on websites when 1/ the allocation was still being discussed, and 2/ the prices had not been agreed.
Any lemmings that paid deposits for these tickets were stupid.
I'm not in the business of defending Punch Promotions but I fail to see what else Ricky could have done.
33,000 applications 3900 tickets.
Even if he had got every single ticket for the fight then less than 50% would have got them.
As for the pricing - its simple - supply and demand.
That's life Rhino - live with it.

They ask Floyd to fight in the Uk, Floyd says "no". The fight is KO'd at the table. Strand opens in Boxrec 'Would SN have done better in negotiations'.

The aim after Tszyu was to rise the US profile by fighting there and getting Floyd. That has been achieved. It may not have spurred Floyd into a fight if Hatton was based over here all the time.
Good post, makes complete sense.
