Box Rec Ratings.

Post by knightshadeau »

After looking around boxrec for some time now, I was wondering about something. Box rec has the rating by world and by country. Any chance of getting it done by region?

G'day John,

How many different regions are there in boxing? Mostly was just wondering if there is any plans to have all the boxers sorted according to the region they live in, instead of just by country.

I suggest the following major regions:

Africa
Americas
Asia/Pacific (including Australia/NZ)
Europe

Porbably the trickiest question here is whether Russia and the other countries of the FSU should be considered as part of Europe or Asia. Some FSU countries (e.g. Georgia and others around Western Russia) probably consider themselves more European than Asian, whereas others (e.g. Kazakhstan and the other -stans) are clearly Asian.

No problems. The local bodies are associated to regional bodies from the world organisations. Just follow those as guidelines.

PS. Kazakhstan is European.

It's at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, actually - here's a quote from the offical website of the President of Kazakhstan, describing various regions of the country:
West Kazakhstan (Aktobe, Atyrau, Mangystau regions) is situated on the crossroads of the European and Asian continents
So if west KZ is already on the crossroads, then east KZ would seem to be firmly in Asia, no?
