Much has been said about FM in recent weeks, particularly with regards to his recent "Reverse Midas Touch".
I've always thought the guy was OK and all that. But after the Harrison fight, he was beaming from ear to ear, and if my memory sreves me correctly, said "it's been a great night". When he said that, the very first thing that sprung into my mind was that his other boy Elcock probably wouldn't like to hear him say that.
Am I being unfair on him? I thought it was off for him to be so happy when one of his boys took the kind of beating that puts him into a career no-mans land.
Anyone agree?

It was an insensitive remark. But I assume Harrison's WBO title is bigger than Elcock's WBU. After all, as soon as Elcock won the title from Farnell, Maloney tried to secure him a WBO title shot at then champion Hector Velazco of Argentina. The WBO clearly means more to Maloney than the WBU.
Yes, he should have been, but since when were managers and promoters ever really concerned about their fighters? As promoter Butch Lewis once said, "Fighters come and go, but we're here forever." IMO, he has a responsibility to help his fighters earn a living. I think Elcocks ability to earn a living is in doubt. I thought he should have been more concerned about that.
