Why cos he chooses to where a diamond encrusted chain and watch, does it have to be labelled ''gangsta rap bollox'' as you put it. I don't see nothing gangsta in what floyd has done on this tour apart from promote a fight, what he was meant to do. i like ricky as a boxer but don't see no one calling ricky's act foul mouthed, chewing gum beer drinking bollox. Tell you what as much as i respect these two fighters for what they have done but if anything it is floyd that has been treated disrespectfully by the many 'football fans' not real fans that support hatton. i'm pretty sure ricky weren't treated by floyds fans in the states the way floyd was treated yesterday. I mean they seemed to be seconds away from throwing beer cans on the podium as southpaw stylist said.

And yes i did feel that nationalism was starting to 'rear its ugly head.'

I do think that people takes floyds pre-fight goading to heart a bit too much. I've seen people on this forum call him a deplorable human being for eff sake.

posing on ring magazine with a machine gundoes not make you a 'gangsta,. Its been done before and it will be done again. I've seen plenty of boxers been marketed before as gangstas or cowboys on tv and magazines whilst promoting fights.

As for beating up a girlfrfiend, I take it you know the ins and outs of the story do ya. was he charged or convicted? i don't know so i am asking you.

The problem with too many people on this board is their refusal to look at things in an objective way. A blatant refusal to see it from both boxers point of view. He and ricky are boxers, that is it. I said it was not th behaviour of a boxing champion - i did not say whether it was the right thing to do or not given the circumstances - i was not there getting a load of abuse by various idiots.
My point Jimmy is that Floyd is a dedicated boxing champ who gets off his ass in life and applies himself to something worthwhile - there were members of that crowd who are not able to do that.
By reacting thus (the V-s etc) he came down to their level. He is a class athlete - he didn't need to do.
Does that explain it any better for you ?

He did community service or whatever they call it in 'the land of the free'

I was referring to the fact that Floyd thinks he is trendsetting with all this shyte, and that people want to emulate him... as per his interview in BM a month or so back.

I dont have to see it from his point of view, same as you dont have to see it from mine. If you can disagree with me, I can disagree with him.

Mikee, you don't have to agree with him but you certainly don't have to berate him in the way that you have done. If hechooses to live his life that way, surely that is down to him. His worked hard, he's earned his money, who said that he has to shred egg shells to satisfy people like yourself.

yeah its down to him, but if i had a bloke in my neighbourhood acting the same, i wouldnt like him, so why should i go all mushy because this prick happens to be rich with it?

He doesnt have to satisfy me, thats a given, but I dont have to like him, or wish him any success. So what if I berate him? im sure he really cares what i have to say
