just out of interest, and in defence of dominic ingle, watch this clip closely, the referee waves the fight off after 8 but the timekeeper carries on to 10...

Vivian Harris was beaten fair and square simple as that. To attempt to get what was a very clear win over turned because the corner has come into the ring 1 second early is absolutely barking!!!!!!

And for the people who are in the "rules are rules" corner - f*ck off get a life and use some common sense.

I can think of at least two ways to diffuse your argument, and that's without really trying.
The question is why would I want to waste my time.
I would suggest working on your style a bit before you come on here effing and blinding......
For instance, "I think your argument is wrong because, ..... and I support this by saying.......etc, etc......
Any brainless moron can come up with phrases like eff off and get a life.
And I'm sure you don't belong in that category :box:

There have been rumours Albert is in fact a certain well-loved forum regular who is trying to make real friends by turning up in a new place with a new identity and hoping people will love him for his character, rather than who he is. A bit like Eddie Murphy's character in Coming to America.

I previously thought Albert was too eloquent to be this person, but the above post makes me wonder...

Of course, the crux of his argument is sound, and it goes without saying we all agree with it. But then the last sentence undoes the good work...

The swear word with the one asterix in it to replace the u (so he didn't actually use bad language) is a very similar characteristic... Used frequently by the character I think you are refering too.

You can all call me Bertie :TU: :TU:

Rhino you say this Spud character uses ... after his sentences a lot, you seem to be doing that quite a bit, are you this Spud after all this time?

Back to the thread .............................................. It seems certain American factions are that desperate for victories they continue to clutch at straws by bringing in the corners actions to seek some semblence of victory. Very sad if boxing goes down this route.

Bertie is having a good laugh at just a few people, but I have to say regardless of whatever character pops up on this forum you and others simply cannot get poor Spud out of your minds. Threads abusing him or criticising him seem to always be the most popular on the forum - I have no doubts you and others will twist this and justify it as something else, all I can say is:

If you dislike, hate or whatever word you and others wish to use about Spud surely this forum is about boxing and it is you and others NOT Spud who simply cannot let things go.

It seems boxrec simply cannot do without Spud

When in Fact Boxing News had picked junior to WIN in the 7TH ROUND.
Does anyone know what Brendan was on about or had he not read the article ?
Intresting to see next weeks issue to see whether Brendon has apologised to Boxing News !
In another thread i predicted Witter to lose in the 7th, so maybe Brendon has got it in for me!! Sorry Brendon :TU:

Whatever; if he is Spud, so long as he behaves himself, then fine. If he isn't Spud, then even better! For what it's worth, I don't have an opinion on the matter; was just responding to what others think. If it is him, I think the truth will out soon enough.

Rhino,

You have a remarkable crystal ball, I know Northallerton quite well, mind you don't know what the weather has been like there as consistently busy doing work.

What do you do? I am imagine someone like yourself would have something like a "sausage" phone to ensure people don't know what you are up to.

I have asked about Spud before, and no has been willing to say much about him.

From what I can gather he is an unpopular guy, a perennial tea boy for a few promoters, a big name dropper with no authority, and has run a few internet foruums banning anyone who disagrees with him

The big word of perenial almost caught me out about this Spud character - it means "lasting throughout the year" or "unfailing" or "Unceasing" or "lasting long" -

I am told Spud spent a couple of years with Frank Maloney then whilst still in the Army had a couple of years with Hennessy Sports, but has now been 3 years with Fight Academy.

I am also told he has been to Las Vegas twice with Fight Academy as well as the same amount of times to Monte Carlo and I am told he has worked behind the scenes on a number of big shows - not bad for a tea boy with no clout and who only name drops -

Or do people like you coninually bring up his name because you are completely bitten with jealousy?

Excellent - Now I have laid some more bait - I am off to bed.

Where is Rhino to stick up for his good pal Spud?

There you go again you seem to be associating me with this Spud character - I keep telling you the name is Bertie.

As for your Hobson comment - I wouldn't be so sure about him being disregarded - as with you Rhino in Hobson there seems to be life in the old dog yet - Hobson has that good quality that is needed in boxing - stubborness - if you have plenty of that - you will succeed - Hobson has done well is securing a contract with Setanta what is needed is some good names to fight on the shows - I am told they are on their way - you and others may mock all you want - but those that know Hobson and his not so good looking sidekick Poxon are not ready for throwing in the towel just yet - there are rumours of a decent splash just around the corner.

Wasnt the alleged tea boy knocked out in Las Vegas on a Ricky Hatton show by a Security guard ? :box:
