None of us can know what really went on unless we were there.

Nothing wrong with a bit of hard sparring anyway.

Did'nt the lad Barker insist he is more than holding his own?
Maybe a two belt, undefeated world champion, did'nt take too kindly to such comments from a prospect?

Who knows?

Cannot wait for this fight!

Had to read that title again then, thought it said Barker sparks Kessler!

Kessler needs all the sparring he can get though.

Cracker indeed :TU:

Yeah?

If that is true, then it seems Kessler is being too rough. Bika also quit his contract halfway after being smashed around in sparring.
I doubt Bika went home because Kesler was too rough. More like Bika was sent home because he was too rough on Kessler.

Bika is the toughest bastard in Boxing today.

Freiheit is full of shit, all the time defending the corrupt German boxing scene. I believe he is part of Sauerland’s organisation. I’ve learned not to trust anything he writes.

Joe's leagues above a washed up Lucas, Beyer and better than Mundine.
The same goes for Kessler and all of Calzaghe's opponents.

How Is Kessler proven to be better than fighters like Eubank? Some of Joe's opponents would of beaten Mundine, Beyer and Lucas too.

The German boxing scene is not corrupt. So many ppl go overboard when an away fighter loses a close decision. No need for those comments about German boxig or Freiheit.

Have you seen Bika on The Contender?

Well, that is one thing that is not up for discussion. I saw the sparring myself as did many other (both friends and the press) and Bika was getting a savage beating. That's all there is too it. Btw. Bika also looked ok on their first sparring, but when apparently he wanted to get cocky with Mikkel he got a real spanking.

I have no first hand info on barker, but it sounds like the same thing happened there. And remember that it was actually on team Palle's own web site that it was first written that Barker did really well. I thought they were trying to convince people that 'we get good sparring - don't critisize us for that' - so it must have been a shame to see another sparring partner quit early.

watched kessler sparring sam soliman on youtube, he didn't come across as someone that takes liberties, he was fairly relaxed in that one and let sam come on to him and get his shots of most of the time.

Can`t you read,i think you can if you are from Denmark,Kessler beat the crap out of Barker, not just a swollen eye
Jangeorg, you come across as a bit of a prick. If whats happening in sparring is true so what, its what happens in the fights that count and anyway there would be something wrong if a world champion wasnt on top when sparring a southern area champ, this is what you call learning the trade, for Barker by sparring a more experianced fighter & a world champ to will help him progress to Kesslers level, you got to give Barker credit for after the terrible tragedy he has had to deal with he's pulled himself through and pursuing his dream. Lets see Calzaghe 'beat the crap' out of Kessler, alough it wont be a spar, it'll be real fight

Freheit doesn't have an agenda, isn't linked to any fighters (that I know of), and isn't a Kessler fanboy, so i'd read more into what he says than a Palle press release.

Kessler to BN: "Darren's going to be a really good fighter."

Looks like he's impressed.

Darren Barker looked like the business in his comeback fight, although he wasnt up against much. I think hes good enough to get to British and Euro title levels, at least

The kid has 15 fights Im impressed if he's even at a level to be considered for sparing the champ.

I hear Froch's sparing partners don't hang around for long, I think different fighters take different things from sparing some work on tequneacs some work on confidence perhaps some work on both.

definitely will be more intense trading in Calzaghe-Kessler. Floyd will do more shoulder rolling and 1 punch counters... Going to be more fireworks when the winner takes on the likes of Inkin, Pavlik, Bute, Pascal, Froch. 168 is the best division of the lot.

All im saying Max is that its a shame that the non boxing fans are all in the know when it comes to Hatton mayweather. If that fight wasnt happening chances are Joe's fight would be getting more colum inches, at the end of the day joe has been champion for 10 years, and this is by far his biggest challenge. Remember the fuore and press coverage when he was fighting Lacy? I think we'll all agree this is a much tougher fight, and thats not even counting hindsight.

Just a shame for Joe, and the non-boxing public that they dont realise the magnitude of this one.

(please dont anyone mention "the 55,000 that sould be going to cardiff" - I just dontthink this fight has had the coverage and "hype" it could and should have)

I expect Joe and Kessler to be more entertaining as well.

Hatton will lose a one sided fight even though I will be made up If he beats Floyd.
