WBU cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli, who defends his title on Saturday against the unregarded South African, Earl Morais, admitted on Tuesday that he won a "Junior British title" as an amateur when he was a mere 12 years of age (junior amateurs are 15 and 16) - and boxed 20-year-olds when a mere 14-year-old.
Enzo turned pro at 17.
He says he lied about his age to get bouts. And explained the lack of documentation to verify his age, due to his Italian roots.
This is a bit of a scandal
Enzo comes clean...
