not a good showing from gammer and unfortunately it looks like scott was lucky to take the british title when he did, in the few rounds they showed he looked unimaginative, lack of power and poor workrate, and thats against john macdoughnut who is far from conditioned.

Did you think Gammer looked out of shape as well rhino? I thought he looked at least a stone heavier than when he fought Williams.

perhaps he was a bit softer than usual, but maybe he felt he needed a bit more bulk to cope with johns 18 stone plus leaning on him...

Never rated Gammer, never thought he was much of a Boxer at that level... Even when he was British Champ, I was still not convinced.

Totally agree, although it's not his fault he managed to pick up the title, just indicative of how crap the division is atm. Anyone know if Henry Cooper's keeping himself in shape these days?

Also, I shudder to ask, but was this actually a beeb eliminator? Is it to be Mr Kipling versus the White Mr Kipling we're to look forward to? I'll donate everything I own to charity if we get to a point where Frank promises the winner of a fight involving McDermott a shot at the world title. The comedy would be worth it.

Let's hope David Price turns over after Beijing(should he qualify)and tries to sort this mess out.

Beyond him, the "talent" coming through looks very thin indeed.

Either that or we keep an eye on "Who do you think you are," the family tree programme on the BBC, and see that Ross Puritty's on it, and discovers British roots.

Thank god they missed out the first 7 rounds, that was dire. Gammer needs to get serious or hang them up. Fancy getting outworked by fatso McDermott.

Indeed..

As much as I don't rate Gammer - I thought he could've at least beat the Rolly-Polly McDermott..!

I second all who suggest talen here (Heavyweight) is thin!

It was, yes, to face Danny Williams, who really should have had a voluntary in the meantime

A brief aside...if you want British results quite quickly, check BBN.
