Ayone heard anything about this match up? It'll allegedly take place should Vargas not be fit to fight?

Just spoke to Wayne and he was surprised to say the least. He knows nothing about it but said he would jump at the chance!

Sounds unlikely doesnt it, Mayorga to KO Alexander who maybe an easy target for the Nicarugian. I think Vargas will be ready this time

Bet it was news to HBO too, I'd imagine it would have come as a slight dissapointment to them had Vargas fallen out and Alexander stepped in!

If HBO wouldn't accept Witter vs Harris, then there is no way they'll accept Mayorga vs Alexander.

He'd be a static target for Mayorga - the Nicaraguan would have no trouble busting him up. But all it takes is for Wayne to land with one decent shot.
But as stated earlier, there is no way HBO would take that bout. There would have to be a major marketing job on Wayne re. his punching power being harder than Julian Jackson/Gerald McLellan etc. for them to even consider it. But even that wouldn't help.

This fight would never happen surely!! Wayne is a lovely man but he would get decked.....

And it's a no-win situation for Mayorga, Alexander has had his day, and that was at domestic level

You're not unpredictable enough Mooresy, you'd have to swallow a VAT of orange smarties and smash him over the head with a bat to be as crazy as this guy!

You'd have to fancy your chances in the ring though, get SW to push for it :)

Nice to see you posting on here Jamie, wleocme to Boxrec.

Facey is a very tricky fighter, always in shape, goo temprament and hits quite hard.

You will have to be at your best to win, but so will he. Good even match up.

Are you still with matchroom??

No with Maloney, have been for last 2 years. I beat Facey in my 2nd defence 4 YEARS AGO!!! Your right he's tricky, awkward, in shape and hits hard. But I'm a far improved fighter than I was then, and MUCH more experienced. It'll be a tough fight however long it lasts because nobody has an easy night with him, but the way I'm training, and with the added incentive of the European now, he's in trouble!!! Been on Boxrec fo a while now, always read the banter, keep it up lads. :TU:
