Colin Wilson Vs Francesco Pianeta
oh well, the world of dodgy matchups with sub par opponents which is australian heavyweight boxing has rarely offered us anything that exciting so at least we are having two fairly evenly matched blokes in a bout instead of haumono-mene VI.. while im talking bout sol i wouldnt mind him fighting someone who has a decnt ranking in aus so he can be a contender for the opbf then fight the winner of leapai briggs...Dare i dream that the best may fight each other? ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
yeh i'l agree with you that it should be done that way, but it rarely is and often the loser an aus title bout will challenge for a regional title straight away.. i could probably see johnny lewis moving him more towards regional titles anyway because it will add to his marketability as well as giving him a world ranking if he makes regular defences against decent opposition..
bob mirovic
i personally am looking forward to seeing big bob take on colin wilson.as in all of bobs fights he turns up to fight and gives his all.i seen in an ebay sale there was a auction to be part of bobs crew on the night of his aussie title fight in november..wish i had the money to bid for it,it would be an awesome experience i reckon for a fan... check it ou on ebay under boxing memorabilia..
You do have a point, it seems lots of promoters do like to flog a trinket on the poster of a fight...Bushboy wrote:yeh regardless of whether he has a title or not he'l still be blasting out people below his skill level but some promoters mite find it a bit better if hes defending some sort of a title.. especially if he is fighting somewhere he has a following like sydney.. just a thought
lol I'll ask him. but I could answer that now....... in QLD he doesn't train much if at all Because he doesn't have to train to win fights in Aus. then when he fights someone fit and handy eg Bob, Shane Cameron, Kali and he gets beat not beacuse of lack of skill but because of fitness. in Gremany I bet he just went over for a bit of a Holiday with 9mins (3rounds sparring) training every days or so. But thats just Col and it works for him when he fights at home. I think he really need s a Personal Trainer! do you know anyone that could go up there for a few weeks get him super fit for Bob.... hint hint Mark it would be good for both of you.dominator wrote:hey Scott, if you get a chance it would be great to ask colin about what it is like to be a sparring partner for the giant and be in such a professional environment compared to his training in qld, let us know what he says if u can
