Historians needed for boxing research project!

Boxing Press Coalition is a media consortium and
reform group devoted to better coverage, integrity in
journalistic practices and coordination of group efforts
for the better-ment of the sport.

We work on ridding boxing of conflicts of interest in
appointment and selection of judges, referees, and
improved scoring by utilization of computerized scoring,
a fourth ringside officiant with review capability.

BPC also favors same day weigh ins or 24 hour weighs
ins. We are affiliate partners with ABC, AAIB, FIST and
RBF. Consequently, we endorse and work for a pension,
retirement plan, financial investment assistance and a
clear conflict of interest free relationship between a boxer
and his manager, promoter and network.

BPC also favors regular, mandatory cat scans and
MRI's to be done every six months.

BPC favors the crowning of one world champion and
exclusive regonition of him as world champion, with
clear and contrasting titles given to other sanctioning
body titlists and belt holders.

BPC favors reduction from the existing 17 weight
classes to the traditional number of 8, and no more
than 10-12.

BPC syndicates written material of any press writer
regardless of their affilitation or country. We post
material for magazines, newspapers and websites.

BPC is presently working on a restructured website
which will act as a portal page to all online periodicals;
which will have links to all promoters, trainers, managers,
sanctioning bodies, fighters and sites.

In addition, the Boxing Press website will also serve
as boxing's Elias Sports Bureau by providing an extensive
database for boxing related facts, stats and trivia.
Boolean and resource search capability will allow fans
and writers to search information such as the number
of knockouts in the the middleweight division; to the
head to head record of WBC champions versus WBA
counterparts, etc...

BPC is also working on an annal, almanac and online
boxing encylopedia which will be the largest boxing
resource in the world. To accomplish that, Boxing Press
is seeking qualified, educated and dedicated team
members to research and provide source material for
books, almanacs, dvd's, the database and our encylopedia.
In return for assistance provided, writers can elect to
receive press credentials plus reimbursement; stipends
for work contributed: or receive percentages of revenue
on book proceeds and the website venture.

BPC is presently working on research for the following:

American and English bareknuckle champions for all
four recognized and six categorized divisions.

Lineal championship lines for the mythical world championship
for all 18 weight classes (paperweight included) with bios, records,
dates of fights and at least three sources for accuracy in said data.

Major sanctioning body data detailed champions, titles won,
head to head matchups, and numbers of draws, no contests,
no decisions and abdication of titles (vacated, stripped, etc).

Interim, regular, world, super and emeritus champion listings
for all four major sanctioning body groups (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO).

Complete listings for all NYSAC and NBA champions for applicble
divisions (generally 12-14 included).

Stats and figures for knockouts, defenses, victories, losses, draws,
most rematches, most bouts against the same opponent, etc...

Scorecard results for all championship fights.

Verification of WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO data obtained to ensure
accuracy and credibility.

Death fatalities in the ring.

Photographs of all champions and leading contenders.

Compubox numbers for applicable championship fights.

Fight results of undefeated champions and contenders.

Script writing for DB program.

Other data necessary comprise a boxing encyclopedia, including
case sensitive information such as round by round break down
(1-75) with results listed as decision, KO, TKO, ND, TD, etc...

Other information will be needed, but this should suffice in getting
the project started. Anyone who participates will have source material
rights and receive proper credit. I have spent the better part of nine
years already researching this, but need help in organizing the data
and entering it, maintaining it and cross checking it.

Just in case anyone wishes to know, the editor's material has appeared in
four books, nine magazines, six newspapers and twenty four websites.
Most of my material is presently appearing in boxrec, though unsourced.
I have been sending out teaser information the last two months. The
most important aspect to having a team for this work is guys (or gals)
who enjoy the sport, want to research and who can handle cross checking
things. Absolutely no plagarism will be allowed, nor will staff bashing.
I need and want team guys who want to see the sport improved and
who have areas of expertise, plus lot's of ambition. No naysayers need
apply. For example, I was told a year ago by Nigel Collins of the Ring
that it was impossible to know which fighters had won at least 100
professional bouts. After spending five months on the project, the editor has found 223 such fighters, and a total of 647 with at least 70 plus victories!

There are so many experts on here sir, I wouldn't want to waste your time applying as I don't think my life could spare the time needed to devote myself to this, and others who do have the time would be better doing it.

You should try Barry J Hugman's work though as I have found it to be absolutely first class.
