John Noctor - Poet Hobo

Post by Ross »

Watched Friday night fights again last night and watched Nocor again get Koed badly in the opening fight.

The Ameteur heavys were better skilled and more entertaining than the first pro fight and credit to the promotor for showing a good Ameteur bout on National TV. I would rather see good talented Ameteurs getting exposure than the Poet Hobo.

Back to the Hobo, credit to him for having a go and training himself and all that, but WTF is he doing on National TV - for the second time !!!

If he could fight a bit far enough but he needs lots of trainng before he s showcasing his skills to the Nation.
Neither he or his opponent showed any skill, given it was a bit entertaining - but same as watching a fight in the car park at the pub is entertaining, but you wouldn't put it on National TV.

John Noctor should learn some skills - from a boxing trainer.

Or put some real fighters on the under card, not side shows.

The general public doesn't understand the concept of pugilism. I've got to admit I laughed at the little bit I saw and I kinda wanted to stay and watch the rest just for a laugh but we had to go and see a movie.

Hyder has to find a way to stop people from changing the channel, and this blokes strange antics will keep the people watching.

I rekon if you put fights in the car park on tv plenty of people would watch

well said ross!!!!
it was killing me watching him the hobo is a joke ...
he should be never allowed to step into the ring ! he could really get hurt!
putting him into the ring is like giving your 10 year old the keys to the car to get the milk in from the shops fornicating dangerous. for the kid and in the ring for the hobo . what would happin if the hobo was killed in the ring he couldnt protect him self at the best of times . and the bloke he fought was a joke as well .. hyder your kidding mate well you were in his corner ! YOUR ARE THE CLOWNS SIDE KICK!!!

Thanks Billybob.
The safety angle is also paramount and agree, the hobo could get killed or seriously hurt, good analogy couldnt agree more

From Tasmania I think he has had 4 pro fights for 4 losses and 2 two of those figts I have seen on Friday Night Fights cards.

He is self trained - that says it all

But how is he different from every other guy on FNF who could'nt fight their way out of a paper bag? There must be some defining characteristic otherwise he would'nt be a topic of conversation.

And the real sad thing about John Noctor's last fight was that Robert Hanlon (the guy in the other corner) was just as bad and I feel he was behind on the cards up until that punch. They where both rocked from really soft punches. I think that my grandmother could beat both of these guys

You have to see him to believe how hopeless he is, and I thought he was probably winning the fight up to the stoppage.
He basicly has no idea at all about anything, he has no concept of foot work, just walks around, doesnt keep his hands in any sort of position that could assist in defence or even throwing a good punch.

He is probably the worst fighter I have ever seen, and I dont mean to insult the bloke but he is insulting the sport of boxing and all that enjoy and watch it. He needs to find a trainer and learn the basics

Yes a Clown

Post by king_kali_rocks »

Hider is a clown alright - one that should be in long bay entertaining the boys inside.

the reason he has bad fights is he pays peanuts. The only reason he puts on amatuers is so he doesnt have to pay them, he is a joke and the sooner he is stopped the better.

What town does hider come from - I will be happy to help him find the rock he slid out from under

I think theres alot worse than Angelo Hyder... But I agree that show wasn't that flash but the show he had before was pretty even with Pat Kennedy & Brian Fitzgerald and the undercard was really even

Yes Pat Kennedy & Fitzgerald as a main event on Fox Australia wide - you are backing my view here by saying that - even fight yes, but main event on Fox, come on wake up and smell the shafting!

My mate and I pissed ourselves laughing when we saw John Noctor on a fight card I think last year. Just watching him shadow box before the fight had us thinking that this had to be a joke. But still there is probably a title out there for him, certainly a shot at a PABF title should be on the cards. Just have a look at the records of some of the bums that get a 'title' shot.
As a matter of fact the WBA might be able to use him...................nah!

John Noctor is ranked 765 out of 783. That means there should be a couple of fights out there. I believe # 782 is ripe for the picking.

I defy anyone to come up with the name of a lower ranked Aussie Fighter.

You blokes are being a bit hard, his best result a majority points loss was against a bloke who had won his last 2. He also has boxed more rounds than Anthony Muundines last great opponent. HAHAHAHHA I just had look at that majority decision one of the fcukers scored it a draw.
He also lost to undeafeted Sean Robb and even though Robb has only one fight to his name he has an unblemished career so we don’t know how far he can go. His first fight he had in the bag until he got hit by a sucker punch back in 2004. And his last fight was a bit tough as he was under prepared having not fought since December.
Being a bit of a late starter to the game Id say lets hold off our opinions until he has had about 6 fights. And before you go slagging him off for managing himself the great Oscar De La Hoy does as well so with an ounce of luck the Poet Hobo will be the next great thing however I would like a new nickname for him more befitting of the sweet science
