The Boxer - I'm lucky to get the results, let alone the scores. The scores were on some, and not others. Sorry.

Napacoach - The Gary (Allen) Russell at the PAL is the younger brother of the Gary Russell, Jr., the Olympian. I hear there are 4, or 5, boys, all boxers, and all named Gary.

That is true. Gary Sr. must have thought George Foreman had the right idea with naming all of his sons George.

All results (from tonight and for the rest of the tournament) can be found at http://www.amateurboxing.com/2007PAL.htm. The types of decisions are also shown. I also have Wednesday's bout sheet posted (should have done it in a table - will from now on).

You're welcome, Kolya. It's only because of the big bucks I'm getting from USAB that I'm staying up past my bedtime to bring you on-time results.  I decided to put them on my web site so more people could find them, as opposed to the small, but loyal, group who frequents this forum.

Actually, the person you should really thank is Rick. He's been waiting around after bouts to get all the results and the next day's bout sheets and then faxing them to me. Yeah, Rick! Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to get the brackets or a list of the female boxers/bouts - and he has tried.

FYI - they are currently using three rings, 3 judges, and computer scoring.

There is already a forum thread under "What Boxers are Turning Pro, etc." You might check there. Any discussion about the "elite" boxers shouldn't be posted on the National PAL Results thread. :D

Thanks Mel and hubby Rick! I know how Rick feels, sometimes asking for a copy of the brackets is like asking for a piece of gold!!!

Not sure who you mean by the Elite Guys. Are you talking about the semi-finalists from the most recent US Championships? Do you mean ranked boxers?

Many of the top guys did take some time off from competition. They competed frequently the first half of this year to try and make the Olympic Trials. Another reason many top boxers aren't at the PAL this year is that the trials just ended and the older guys are deciding what to do and spending the money to go to CA so early after the Olympic trials isn't tops on their list. I think the turnout next year will be better.

BTW - there are some top guys boxing in the PAL. Gabino Saenz boxed in the Trials (at 106-now at 119!!!). Gary Russell III is an up and comer and is a ranked boxer. J'Leon Love and Dominique Dolton are both ranked boxers. Duran Caferro and Shemuel Pagan are also both ranked. I'm sure there are others, but many of the names aren't posted yet and there might be a few I didn't recognize. The common thread among most of the ranked guys that are at the PAL is they are young - 17 to 19 years old.

Yeah, I know Caferro is only 18. I was surprised that some good Open Class guys like Pagan was there as well. Hope J'Leon does well, he's a heck of a nice guy.

Yippie ki yay. :D That's good news. I will take a guess, and obviously I could very well be wrong (great part of boxing, anything can happen) butI think Caferro will fight Pagan in the finals.

Does Caferro know you as Kolya? If so, I'm going to see if I can meet him on Saturday night and will use you as a reference.
