Gilmour blames himself for Hare loss.

Gilmour is only striving for the best for his fighters but i think he dropped a bollock choosing Rivera after the year Hare has had. He has KO'd Bergman and Hantindi and outboxed Dzuman etc but in his last fight against Matolsci he apparently looked stale. Rivera was way to much of a difficult foe and i didn't realise he was fighting him until i woke up off nights and turned on the Thursday night fights thing. A bad day at the office for Hare or maybe he isn't going to cut it? I think unfortunately it may be the latter.

The more I think about it, the more I think that Rivera was a bad choice, having spoken to someone who worked with Negron before he lost to Rivera, they told me that Negron was in the shape of his life, and Rivera just whupped his ass. Some people apparently also tip Rivera to go on to bigger and better things. Just because he has a patchy record does not make him a bad fighter, and it may be that things came together

I still think at his best, as he was earlier this year, Hare would fare a lot better against Rivera.

I think it a bit silly to totally write Hare of as nothing more than domestic level, he may not turn out to be world class, but plenty of other fighters have lost to a toughnut like Rivera in their career and bounced back.

True. You can't write off a fighter after one loss, especially, as you say, to a good opponent like Rivera, who had never been stopped. It was always going to be a long, hard night for Hare. I would like to see him fight for domestic honours now. He's a biggish name in the trade and can soon get back a top ten ranking by fighting - and beating - the likes of Barnes and co. A rematch with Mark Winters would be a good match at this stage. Winters, who held Hare to a draw a few years back, is now a struggling welter.
