lynes v branco looks like Italy now

this fight keeps going backwards and forwards. it now seems like its italy again. the italians keep upping the purse bid over increased bids from our side. colin has a flu bug and hasnt trained as much as he would have liked but i dont think its a problem. NOV 9th looks like the date

Thats a real shame my friend and the whole scenario is crazy really his team need to be winning purse bids like this if he is ever going to get a pukka world title shot.

Also he needs to be advised not to take the Nov 13th date if he has had this flu bug that is going around, its an early strain and he will be weak for a couple of weeks after the bug has gone.

It should not be a problem calling it off as the Italians do it all the time without any penalties. It may then give every one time to focus on perhaps paying the challenger off with a decent pay day and he comes over here.

Hope they can work this out re home advantage but more so don't want to see him fighting in November, December at the earliest really after this bug.

Agree with that, It would be great to get that home advantage as he'd have to win by a knockout to get a victory in Italy!!

good points global - colin is not worried about the bug but we all know what happened last time he was ill - lenny daws!!

i have been told that the italians are in the driving seat regarding cash resources but if i was Hearn i'd throw £££ at this one in order to get a pop at mallignaggi. maybe branco's team feel they want the same thing

Unfortunately Col's father passed away recently so it's anyone's guess when he'll return to action.

That's terrible, i was only watching Lynes-Morrison last night and his dad looked made up climbing behind him for the post fight interview. What exactly was wrong with him? Cancer?

his dad was an ex-copper and a very decent fellow indeed.

as soon as the prognosis was made and colin knew the reality of the situation (that time was going to be short) - this was after the daws fight - colin decided to go into overdrive and achieve as much as he could in the ring before his dad passed away. his focus in those post daws fights is obvious to all and even taking them in his opponents backyard shows how single minded he has been. he was a good fighter before all this but it has certainly given him an extra dimension. we all know about his very potent jab. i only hope he can dedicate the rest of his career to his father and maintain his excellent form. i'll add that his transformation before a fight is also very marked; his former self was guarded and aloof pre fight, nowadays he is relaxed, warm, friendly and talkative and oozes confidence. its quite a story.

according to MONDOBOXE.COM this fight now takes place in italy on the 29th november to suit sky tv, dosent matter, i see lynes winning wherever it takes place, looks like milan here we come.

With his flu, his father dying, and the Italians winning the purse bids, things are really stacking up for Colin here. I really hope he can get this out of the way and do himself and his Dad proud. He has the beating of Branco, but if he's still affected by his Dad, the flu disrupting his training (or, heaven forbid, iffy judging) it could be a very tough night, and a sad way to lose the title. God I'm depressed now
