its not how he looks although he does look ripped its down to how he fights. You seen him spar? Does he look like he has another suprise in a british title fight in him.

Agreed it's not how he looks. I've seen many a ripped, fit fighter be taken to pieces. However, looking at his training etc proves how focussed Michael really is.

I honestly can see him lifting that title come the 19th - no problem.

There is absolutely no doubt in his day Michael Gomez was a bloody good fighter indeed.

Michael has to prove it in the ring - if he does then I cannot wait to see if that Alex Arthur rematch can be made.

Regardless of how ripped and fit Gomez is - I simply question his ability to take a shot - he was in some terrific wars and no matter how a fighter looks it is that ability to take a shot which is the telling part of wether the fighter can make a viable comeback.

I expect to see Michael deal with Johanneson comfortably - when/if he does then lets start screaming from the rooftops - but not yet hey??

BTW - Good luck to Mr Woods - throughly decent bloke, and is growing one of the best stables in the UK - apart from one of course!!!! :TU:

Its so hard to know what Gomez has left. He's been in the wars over the years, and has looked so bad aside from that win over AA in recent times.

I think this will be a good fight. Lets hope than Johannsen is in top shape for this one, as it sounds like he was going through some sort of problems before his last fight.

I don't see this one going past 6 rounds..I think it's going to be a sad night for Gomez as the last fight he was in was really messy and the guy was just a journeyman...

All credit to Gomez for whipping himself into what appears to be fantastic shape.

Its all the miles on his 'boxing clock' that you can't take off though, and thats what worries me.

I really like Gomez and hope he can turn the trick one more time but I fear he could be in line for a beating.

Same thoughts - but have to say I don't think it will be against Johanesson - I actually think Gomez wins that fight - when he does watch the banter and b*llocks go into overdrive about Alex Arthur. Thats where the bad loss could happen.

Gomez looked very good in sparring when i saw him last. Appeared to be enjoying the training instead of it being a chore.

Looking forward to the fight, Carl got sparked heavily last time out. Hard one to call.

It's too soon and too high a standard after his last devastating defeat. Gomez wins in 4/5 brutal rounds....
