Keep going, but he will never be more than domestic class, if that.

Can punch but his style is off and his chin is shocking. Well done Prycey, the Welsh march on :TU:

Give him six months off, then six monthe boxing three or four journeymen, then look at a Midlands Area or English title fight. He's been matched very tough for his last six contests; let him build back up gradually, never mind talk of eliminators and so on straight away.

Work on not throwing punches with your chin in the air, never seen a fighter so open.

Shame cos he seems a nice lad and can punch.

Agree with Oliver, build up to the English title. 2 to 3 fights time. He's still relatively young and has alot going for him at that level. He can throw a punch and he is fairly fast handed - he will always be a crowd pleaser.

Maybe in a couple of fights time he can take on someone like Salari in a rematch and build up to maybe Facey.

I cannot imagine Moore keeping hold of the British title for too much longer - with a pending EBU title fight... So there could be a lot of changes.. If/when Moore beats Facey and then decides to vacate - Facey might still be in a high position to fight for the title again... and therefore the English title will be vacant.

Jamie Coyle wouldn't be a bad opponent to come back too.

not being cynical but u could quite easily have chucked the matthew hall into the same bracket...it's just conception got the knockout first, but not before getting badly wobbled as I remember?

showed great guts against Gomez mind you.

His problems definitely seem to stem from his defence, he wants a break, to tighten up , a few fights to ease back in - either that or pack in. IMO

there is a tendency to think that you are ready for championship class if you go round knocking out everyone in sight......it doesn't always follow true.

for instance, I think Kiko Martinez will get found out be either Wayne Mccullough or Esham Pickering......but i'll pick that fight on that thread not this one :D :D

he's had two bad knockouts fairly close together which I don't like to see. It's not like he just lost 1 or 2 decisions recently. Go back to the drawing board, build up slowly.

unfortunately..once you are chinny you will always be chinny.....but its possible to be chinny and be successful, so long as you have the equaliser. concepcion has it, alexander has it...and the list is endless.

What concerned me about Concepcion the other night was how slender his neck was - I know it seems trivial for some but you can't withstand solid blows unless you have a sturdy neck(in theory, i'm sure there may well be an exception)...

Indeed it is not the only factor, one that just helps... Building it up with some exercises would help a little...

Anyway, there we have it :)

I saw Woolcombe lose to Facey, and was not overly impressed with him. Concepcion -- Woolcombe is not the worst fight in the world for Martin at this point.

Conception - Woolcombe would be a horrendous, all skills out the window race for the knockout punch that Woolcoombe would win in my opinion. I though he looked pretty sharpe in his last fight.
For Conception whose confidence can't be all that high anyway, it would be a disastrous match up. Conception needs to go back a couple of steps and re-group IMO

Maybe it was just the Facey effect then, but if Facey could trouble him enough for the stoppage, why could not Concepcion? As I say, I thought he was easily to hit and showed poor ring awareness against Facey.

because 1) Facey is Facey. They don't call him the octopus for nothing. In fact thay might not even call him that at all - except i remember vesus Woolcombe on the tele he got called an octopus about 100 times by the commentators.
Conception cannot create the same amount of sheer frustration in an opponent in my opinion.

And as to your second point - the title of the thread is where now for Conception? - and not...what would be a great fight to watch for Joe public? Conception has been knocked out something like 5 times in his last 6 fights and Woolcombe could quite conceivably do the same. The guy needs a break from getting knocked out IMO.

This might sound daft but MC has in some way become a victim himself of his own awesome knockout power through the amateurs and early stages of being a pro......except now, he is probably (as I've only seen him a few times as both) fighting the same sort of way but the oppos have gotten better.....so having a knockout dig is just no longer enough.

IMO (and if someone could tell me what TBE means that every man and his dog on here put after comments it would solve a mystery for me........roll up with your funny answers here.)

perhaps he should do a damon hague, and just fight against reasonable domestic opposition and reasonably recorded foreigners and develop a decent record on paper, this could perhaps culminate with a decent title fight should he win say 12 of his next 15...

He DOES have potential to achieve more than he has, but he's been matched very, very hard recently. He was still a novice when he got his first loss, but because the 0 had gone, he started getting thrown to the wolves.

The Hall result was nice for him, but he wasn't supposed to win that one. Instead of building on the result, they chucked him straight back into the frying pan.

He needs somebody to "look after him" for a year or so, at least.

He keeps winning decent matches and then going thrown in at the deep end. like a few have mentioned, he should take 3/4 months to regroup and then have 4/5 bouts against reasonable opposition to build confidence.

But then again, this is also a business and he might need the cash the bigger fights bring..

But its not like the Pryce loss was because of the gulf in class, Concepcion was doing ok before his chin let him down again. Add to this he has lost by KO's to journeymen Salari and Bonavic. And really can he build up again?
At what level do you start him at again? he's won 1 fight in his last 6.
