Will Hatton-Mayweather be on at any pubs/clubs in London?

Post by oliverfennell »

While I could get the PPV, I was thinking what a good night out it would be if somewhere had a late licence and put the fight on a big screen. I could get p1ssed right up and be as noisy as I wanted in the company of fellow fans all cheering our man on and, most importantly, not incur the wrath of the missus.

Does anybody know of any plans for this in London?

There is a Sports Bar by me (nowhere near London mind) that is doing a night for it.

£10 in (incl a supper) and nice big screens and a bar open all the way through. Sound be mint

Last time I tried to watch a Hatton PPV in central London was a bust - find somewhere well ahead of time that is doing a similar deal to the one above - cover charge to make up for the huge cost of showing the fight etc otherwise you will be sorely disappointed.

Good luck in your hunt!

Don't mind a cover charge. You pay that for nightclubs anyway, and I'd rather watch boxing in one than listen to the Abba Megamix.

Bambi, most times I do prefer to watch in the comfort of my own home, with as few distractions as possible, but I just think this will be a great event. The few times I have watched boxing in a pub and the other customers have been into it, I've really enjoyed it. Would have an "England game" feel to it, I'm sure.

This is definetly one to watch with a large group of people I think.

I've actually got a projector round my gaff, just need to get the right cables to hook it up to my sky box in time for the fight.

Would be good; PM me if you want to arrange it whenever. I go through Grove Park on the train on the way home. Otherwise there's Hither Green, where I change trains, or somewhere like Lewisham or New Cross at weekends.

Had 50+ round for the Tszyu fight.

Absolute chaos and involved over 100+ burgers and hotdogs from 6pm as everyone got fed twice over the 10/11 hours.

Plus a pint got spilt over one of my technics

The hardest thing is trying to keep that many beers cold at once - in the end we got a plastic rubbish bin and filled it with around 10 bags of ice and everyone put there booze in that.

Great evening though and the result was the cherry.

( just a god awful mess the following day )

Nice idea, though McNeilly may prove difficult to nail down what with the bairn and that.

McNeilly?

Lewisham and New Cross, christ, we're really hitting the high spots aren't we?

Isn't there somewhere anywhere near civilisation we could meet?

Sure there is, just these are convenient for ME! What's so good about Grove Park?

But I'm open to suggestions. Just let me know.
