Does anyone know the significance of the star of David that Dave Sands wore on his boxing trunks?

I think it had something to do with his trainers gym, I think his name was Tom Maguire from Newcastle
How do you mean "badly damaged"?Brute wrote:I knew people in the 1960s who knew Sands. Their general opinion was that he was badly managed and should never have been driving the truck he was driving when he was killed. I don't know if Maguire was his manager as well as his trainer, but if he was he did Dave no favours.
Read it again. I wrote "badly managed." He was robbed blind by his manager and should have had a much better life.bollox wrote:How do you mean "badly damaged"?Brute wrote:I knew people in the 1960s who knew Sands. I don't know too much about the Sands brothers but I do know they were country fellas who lived fairly simple lives, so it's no surprise to learn they were treated shabbily
