the dark destroyer days were the greatest , you werer guaranteed a tee-off and a tear-up after the chimes of big ben , and shouts from every pub in the land of 'go on, nige! come on nige!' great days. miss the benn and bruno days badly , every taxi driver would be talking about them. then prince naseem came along to boot. joe calzaghe's reign in the british boxing world has just been this cold , negative reign

In respect of Tyson not standing for any of Warren's shit, can anyone really clear this matter up?Greg Nicholas wrote:Benn and Warren are both strong minded individuals and i knew they'd clash again, like they did in may 88 and feb 95.. and because Benn is strong minded i knew he'd end up in a tension with Hamed, he wouldn't stand for Hamed's shit (kind of like Tyson not standing for Warren's shit)..
I know there was an altercation or a disagreement between the two, but I also heard from a reliable source at the time, Tyson came real close to throwing Warren out the window of his hotel suite, which was on something like the 7/8th floor!
If this is what transpired, then too right Tyson didn't stand for any of Warren's shit!

My son in law is rarely ever wrong with his predictions and he says Hatton will waste Mayweather around the 5th - I think Ricky will rough him up and win with a rib cracker but I couldnt give the round - Too many people see this as a master and pupil fight with Hatton getting a lesson - I see it as a boxer v a fighter and Hatton inflicting pain on Floyd that will be too much.

From what I recall, Tyson was acting like a bit of a prat when he came over to the UK. He went to some big Jewellers in central london, and 'bought' some stupidly expensive bracelet for 100,000 or some such figure, and said that Frank would pick up the tab, to which Warren replied 'nyet.'Rocky Balboa wrote:In respect of Tyson not standing for any of Warren's shit, can anyone really clear this matter up?Greg Nicholas wrote:Benn and Warren are both strong minded individuals and i knew they'd clash again, like they did in may 88 and feb 95.. and because Benn is strong minded i knew he'd end up in a tension with Hamed, he wouldn't stand for Hamed's shit (kind of like Tyson not standing for Warren's shit)..

Excuse me if I am incorrect, this is just my memory of what purportedly caused the altercation.
