Gomez JOhanneson presser

Post by Wales »

Did anyone / everyone see the pics form the presser yesterday? Gomez looks really fired up for this, reminiscent of the build up to Arthur and himself. I think he looked to stick the nut on johanneson at one point, certainly needed to be pulled apart form the pictures. To make it all the more bizarre the incident occurred in the back of a horse drawn carriage!!

I think Gomez can win this. Carl took quite a beating in his last fight.

To be fair so did Gomez!! Gomez took a lot of punches in his last fight against Youssef Al Hamidi (a 2 (1) - 4 and 1 draw fighter) - and got cut. Looked distinctly unimpressive in that fight - but hey its Gomez - about as predictable as the lottery!

He was lousy in that fight. Although he disagrees on the basis of getting the job done.
There is no getting away from the fact that he got the job done - but looking at Al Hamidi's record tells me that it is worrying that he took so much punishment before Al Hamidi's corner threw in the towel.

If he makes that many mistakes against Carl then he will be in trouble.

I saw the fight on seconds out last night. To me Mike just looked careless, went in expecting to blow the lad away with little thought for gettign tagged himself. He looked to be hitting bloody hard though (Mike). I think he'll be more cautious with Carl.

Gomez needs to be cautious with Carl he is a very dangerous fighter - Carl was in with his bogeyman last time, a fight he should never have taken - Ok he wanted revenge but thats one fighter he now has to accept is too good for him - Gomez could be up for it like the night he beat AA but I think Johanssen will prove too much.

Carl should win this I think, he would have been a tough fight for even a peak Gomez, and I think now Gomez is just too ringworn to do the job.... as long as Carl has trained and is in the right frame of mind I see him overcoming a fast and rough start from Gomez to win in about 5 or 6 rounds.....

carl knows gomez is gona b a challange and that he is fired up 4 this fight. he isnt taking the fight lightly. but carl is strong and my money is on johanneson (sorry gomez fans!)

Is he training with the Ingles though? Heard rumours but surely Frank Maloney is not getting him ready for this? If so where at? London? Leeds? Want to have a decent bet on this fight but there are so many imponderables I'm still undecided. Not sure how much Gomez has left but I'm also not at all sure we know the full story behind Carl's dramatic loss last time out.

Thats the way I see it too - All Gomez in the first few rounds with Carl taking his time and fighting defensively - Then Carl going in to finish Gomez off as the fire goes out - I tend to feel it may go on a little longer though.
