Probably, yes. It depends how he took care of himself. The biggest obstacle in that era would be Carlos Ortiz. Ismael Laguna would have give him lots of problems too. It would have been a tougher era for Duran than the 70s.

That is like saying if Sugar Ray Leonard or Marvin Hagler would have had the same kind of success they had in the 80s.
