Kirk Johnson - What a tub of lard!
Kirk Johnson - What a tub of lard!
I was shocked at the conditioning of Kirk Johnson, watching the coverage on BBC2 last night.
Although Vitali did nothing wrong (obviously Johnson's conditioning isn't his fault) I feel you have to put this win into perspective.
I would have given Steve Bunce a solid chance against Johnson.
Lewis beats Klitchko comfortably in a rematch. It'll be Lewis vs Golota all over again. I can see Klitchko come steaming out looking to put Lewis away (a la Kirk Johnson) and end up looking daft.....

Decent showing from the Beeb last night but i hate Inverdale the more i see him, he's such a partonising no nothing, he assumes the viewers are all as clueless as him. I am not a big Bunce fan but at least the guy is passionate about his sport and he was clearly revelling being in some decent Boxing company with his mate from ESPN Wally whatshisname! All Inverdale could do was take the piss. As for Johnson well....i though he had turned a corner after his KO of Lou Savarese which was impressive, but he lost his big chance against Ruiz because of constant low blows and i seem to remember his sole draw against Al Cole he did something similar in the low blow department? He just just seems to freeze on the bigger nights it seems.

Kirk Johnson's fast hands and skills made me think he was in with a chance against the Dr. How gutted must Dino Duva have been? He pins his hopes on this guy and he can't even come to fight in shape.
He should have his purse suspended. Commisions should monitor fighter's condition durring camp for big fights. This 'no show' reminds me of Douglas v Holyfield.

its funny how Wlad had always been the one to be the heir to LL throne and Vitali was in the background because of the Byrd fight and now its Vitali who looks like the real deal and is taking out quality opposition (Kirk was a grade B heavy IMO)
Mesi looked bad though. God after seeing him ko the touch of sleep I though he looked promising.
