http://www.bernarddunne.net/johnshep.php looks like Boxrec is getting a bit of bad press on the Bernard Dunne fight

not sure if there is any official relationship between the two camps - maybe they are just pissed off with that they see a bigoted actions by someone at Boxrecdopey wrote:Should the Dunne camp not be concerning themselves with rebuilding Bernard rather than worrying themselves with Duddy's nationality on Boxrec?
Have Dunne's backers now got options on Duddy?

I dont think his Uncle should be brought into this. Duddy's uncle was murdered by British Army soliders on Bloody Sunday.Terry D wrote:Sad news. Not sure about the relevance of it.steve689 wrote:What's this bit all about?
Furthermore, John's uncle, John "Jackie" Duddy was killed by British troops at the age of 17 on the infamous "Bloody Sunday", January 30, 1972 (4). Identifying John as British is an insult to John Duddy and his uncle's memory.
This isnt the issue - the issue is about correct record keeping and at the moment the record showing his nationality is incorrect - thats the only issue

Regarless, all citizens of Northern Ireland have been entitled to an Irish passport, should they wish to hold one, long before that date.Max Molyneux wrote:The Belfast agreement wasn't signed till 1998 though so could he have had one before that though?sligobhoy67 wrote:Irish - he has never held a United Lingdom onelowersmiths wrote:this is easy to solve - what kind of passport does he use to travel with?
As Duddy is nationalist from the Bogside area of Derry, I can tell you for certain that he will have never held a British passport.
This subjsct became tedious a LONG time ago but John Shepherd's bigotry is the driving force that keeps it alive.
Its a shame he can't move on, as so many in the North of Ireland have..

So what passport could he of had before the Belfast agreement?TerribleTerry wrote:Regarless, all citizens of Northern Ireland have been entitled to an Irish passport, should they wish to hold one, long before that date.Max Molyneux wrote:The Belfast agreement wasn't signed till 1998 though so could he have had one before that though?sligobhoy67 wrote: Irish - he has never held a United Lingdom one

Yhis is the point, if John Shep had just given Duddy and co Irish Nationality there would be no issue, its his intransigence that has caused the issue..
He could then have gone and whistled his flute till his hearts content
It is a shame cos this is the best site on the net, we come on here cos we love BOXING..I imagine if we engaged in political debate then some people may lose a few 'mates'
Give them Irish Nationality and lets get back to arguing whether Duddy would get past the 4th against Pavlik!!!"

Plus future NI people born after 2004 won't be entitled to both.

I dont care if Duddy is Irish, British or from Accra, Ghana his face first style who see Pavlik obliterate him, unfortunately.thepocketrocket wrote:Yhis is the point, if John Shep had just given Duddy and co Irish Nationality there would be no issue, its his intransigence that has caused the issue..

He has come along way in the pro ranks to say he was going to pack it all in and get a normal job whilst still an amateur, but the step into world class will be one leap too far.
Pavlik by early KO I reckon.

What difference or relevance does your question make Max.
Duddy, like others in the North, is an Irish nationalist who holds an Irish passport therefore he'is Irish by nationality and this is upheld in International Law.
You do like to go round in circles mate. If you was a dog I bet you would be trying to nibble at your own tail.
Anyway I'm off down t'pub to cheer on England.

Well Sligho says he's always held an Irish passport but the Belfast agreement wasn't signed till 1998 so surely he might of not held an Irish one till this agreement was signed.
It's as relevant as saying he's always held an Irish passport.
What you were posting can make this go In circles, you could of answered my question Instead.

I already know this, I'm asking what he held before this was law and signed.Duddy, like others in the North, is an Irish nationalist who holds an Irish passport therefore he'is Irish by nationality and this is upheld in International Law.

I know, methinks this could be a mess
But give him Abraham and you never know, a very winnable fight

Point 1 asking about a person’s national status before a certain date is as relevant to the main point as wanting to know what his status was in 1898. It is what this status is now that matters. Besides TT already answered that question before you asked it again. Is that not going round in circles?Max Molyneux wrote:Well Sligho says he's always held an Irish passport but the Belfast agreement wasn't signed till 1998 so surely he might of not held an Irish one till this agreement was signed.

Point 2 I have seen thread after thread with you and your ‘admiration’ for Calzaghe that gives the impression that you have already made your mind up about him despite the reasonable and persuasive arguments that are presented and pretty much agreed upon by the consensus who are not blind. You go back to the same basic premise every time even though you have been out argued. Not going round in circles?
Point 3 TT answered your question I didn’t need to answer. And finally, there isn’t any doubt about Duddy’s nationality for reasonable people. It is quite categoric and countersigned in law and therefore conclusive. There is no need to go round in circles at all unless you are an obstinate fool who likes to be contrary just for the sake of it.
A better discussion would be why is John Shep so intransigent on this issue? But I couldn’t give toss one way or the other. The fact is any person born in the North of Ireland has the right to choose whether they are British or Irish, and in choosing that nationality they are right and it should be respected.

TT answered what he Is currrently entitled to not before what he had before the Belfast agreement. This Is hardly going In circles.

People on here nearly always misunderstand what I say about Calzaghe. I don't deny things they tell me like some of his record having weak opposition and how can I be out argued when they don't read my posts properly? It's more the other person going around In circles.Point 2 I have seen thread after thread with you and your ‘admiration’ for Calzaghe that gives the impression that you have already made your mind up about him despite the reasonable and persuasive arguments that are presented and pretty much agreed upon by the consensus who are not blind. TT never answered It properly he mentioned what he currently entitled too. Since the Belfast agreement wasn't In place or signed until 1998, then surely he had a different passport?Point 3 TT answered your question I didn’t need to answer. I am not contrary either just because I disagree with alot of people on here either, I like discussions, I don't go In circles.
I don't disagree with the passport Issue but Shep may have his reasons. The accusations without proof that some members are saying can be why he might not change It out of principle?
The only people who are going In circles are the people who repeat the same answer despite It being the wrong answer to my question.
