He could possibly be having a fight on the Contender final night. It seems standard for all the contender fighters to take part. Hopefully we can see a Smith-Banks rematch over 8 or 10 rounds.

Theres always Elcock.
He's been stripped.
Eastman was due to defend it against Wayne but decided against it with two days to go. Since he lost to Wayne, the Commonwealth Council have decided to make the belt vacant.

Tom Podmore.

Maybe did not want to pay the sanctioning fee? ( if there is one?)
Doubt he got paid much after Sky dropped the fight.
Locket, Macklin, Elcock, McDermott, Barker, Rhodes (if he doesn't stay a light middle) and Smith. There should be a lot of good fights at middle domestically. Although of course that is not to say they will happen.

Eastman got paid exactly the same amount as he would have had the fight been on Sky.
Pat Cowdell bid the same amount as Frank Maloney the first time around - mainly so Wayne could get the same purse.
It could be argued that Smith has actually finished 2nd in terms of best possible result in this contender format- behind the champion. He got the exposure and remains undefeated.
On a side note, a guy who Banks beat twice (bit of an upset mind) Elvin Ayalia has just drawn with Sergio Mero - Banks looked good vs Ayala and I gave him a chance to do well in this tourny.
Would love to see Smith in the domestic title mix right now. Lockett, Williams, Eastman, Elcock etc.

I'd agree with most of that.
Smigga comes across as a top fella and an honest pro and I wish him all the best. Being the cynical bar stard that I have become I think the way things unfolded worked out well for him.
