I think it would be embarressing if warren said it wasn't Earl now, he has talked up the fight and would look a bit of a tit if it didn't happen, he can't claim promotional difficulties as he promotes Earl.

i doubt it's Earl wanting too much £ somehow: its his ticket back to the bigtime and a match he likely sees as man against boy....i just dont think FW sees it as a wise matchup for his goldenboy at this point, though his hand might be forced.

Earl can hit, and Khan looks a bit on the fragile side....

Same night as Hatton-PBF.

Really mouth-watering clash this one, it will have that 'edge' to it.

As I said before, a bit of an Arthur-Gomez look to it.....

Yep a genuine step up for Khan and a stiff test for him at this stage in his career.

Franky certainly knows how to get them rankings....

Just seen Earls 8, and Romanov is 7. I guess with Romanov saying his next fight is in England, Khan could well be it.... provided he beats Earl ofcourse. If that was the case, there couldn't be too many complaints at those two for his next two fights.... unless you're Jon Thaxton.

Would Warren really put him in with Romanov yet though?

Anyone know how long Warren has Khan under contract for?

Agree that he probably wouldn't want to progress him this quickly but the Khan camp are (to their credit) forcing his hand.

The last thing Warren needs is Khan jumping ship

Nuff respect for Warren and Khan for doing the fight is well worth watching and good for boxing. If I were boxing chat there would be a certain amount of I told you so going on.

I might be wrong, but I recall hearing somewhere that it was a 3-year contract which started summer 2005. If that's true, then it's up for renewal next summer.

Eddie, no matter how good Khan looks in beating Earl I don't think Frank will want to put him in with Romanov anytime soon. I think it's much more likely he'll fight one of Hennessey's lads as they don't really seem too scared of losing their 0. With John Murray's career slowing down to almost a stop I wouldn't be surprised if it's him.

I expect Khan to beat Earl quite comfortably, stoppage around 5-6. Earl has seen better days and although he will be dangerous, he isn't this murderous puncher some of the press releases are making him out to be. Nice step up for Khan and finally a step in the right direction - a proper lightweight with a good backround who is going to come to win...we hope

ITV are not responsible for the predictable fights and I am pretty sure FW has been pressured into Khan/Earl by ITV sport.

I don't think fighters sign contracts for a certain period of time, it's usually done on number of fights.

It's possible that Khan is only contracted to Fwanklin for 15 or so fights.
