Round 11 - Facey on the floor, not sure it was a knockdown but ref thought it was. Fight is stopped, Moore retains his title.

Round 11 - Moore starts to use feints which worked - landed lots of clean shots, troubled Facey - Fight stopped after Facey goes down 3 times in the round (2 I think scored as KD, should have been 3).

Off night from Moore, he came through though. Well done Moorsey.

Looks like I had it 96-95 Moore at the time of the stoppage.

Facey's a major spoiler. When prepared, he can really make a good fighter look bad. Moore looked really off, and did well to salvage the fight late.

Spoiler is a good word, really does need to have a defense if he is going to win a title of any sorts - too old to change that now I guess, but whilst he aint chinny a puncher always stands a chance with his hands down chin in the air style. Remember the Rahman "guard" for the Lewis rematch (just stick his hands out) - Facey adopts this, doesn't really work does it.

British level, maybe european is where Moore really belongs, I mean no disrespect in that...he is a good fighter.

But its quite clear he wouldn`t do too well with real world class boxers..he can be hurt and he can be out-boxed/foxed...real warrior though.

Good to see Paul Ingle at ringside, glad to see he hasn`t turned his back completely on the sport has was recently reported.

I think that's bang-on unfortunately. While Facey is the type stylistically to give anyone fits, Jamie was frequently open to the right-hand down the pipe and while I'm a fan and love watching him, you can't help but think that someone like a Forrest would be a step too far for him.

cheers for the R by R guys was unable to watch it. I imagen a lot of Moores poor performance may be because of the lay off. I wouldn't judge him until another performance after this fight.

Good fight, Moore looked very open at times that has to be a worry when he moves up.

How on earth did Jim Watt score the first round for Facey? His scorecards baffle me sometimes.

I don't know if the fight was a reflection of Moore's true abilities. It was a step back, Facey had more preparattion, etc etc. Whether Moore can go further or not, his fights can be hugely exciting. Ricky Hatton had it spot on when he said he didn't like that fight for Moore.

Sad to say, I just can't see Jamie being able to handle Spinks or Forrest at LM. He's definately a European level fighter but will come up wanting at a higher level.

I hope he proves me wrong!

Thought Facey was winning by a round until Moore scored those knockdowns.

Tough fight for Mooresy and by his own admission "rusty", but why - I would appreciate a word from him on here to explain that - Surely he trained knowing it was going to be more difficult than the last fight - This time Facey was properly prepared - Before he took the fight at short notice but still gave Jamie a hard fight - Facey has improved and Jamie must have been aware this was going to be a battle - Jamie says he will be better prepared for a Euro challenge but why wasnt he for this defense of his British title - Very even fight IMO with Facey having the reach advantage - Jamie may just have been a round up when the knock downs came - Ricky seemed to think the fight was going to be closer than most others did, and he was proved to be right - Despite not being totally at his best Mooresy did the business in the end with his heavy hitting, so well done Jamie - Great night from Sky and Rickys contribution made it even better - They were all there Witter, Johanssen ect, brilliant!!

I know I'm saying this in hindsight but for me it was a bad move to take this fight by his management - its almost impossible to look against facey and with Moore being 6months out the ring it was never going to be an easy fight. I suppose the thinking was that since Moore had facey down five times in the last fight - stopping him in seven, something similar would happen in the rematch. Moore is definitely better than he showed here tonight though - I'm gonna wait til his next fight - (possibly against the euro champ) before I pass judgement on how far Moore can go...

One average performance doesn't mean that things are drastictly wrong with Moore, it was an off night.
Plus this performance might actually mean someone higher up the rankings will risk a fight with Moore, see it as an easier night.

The EBU title is well within his grasp, the champion Baysangurov sounds a good young boxer, but i think Moore stands great chance of winning that fight.

I can't see how the 'Big' 4 ruling bodies don't rank Moore.

Before people start talking about Forrest and Spinks etc they should wait and see how Jamie gets on at the next level, European.
By all accounts the German guy is quite good (although with only 15 or 16 fights I really have to back Moore on paper due to experience and decent power, balls etc...) sorry, scrap decent, I mean tremendous.
what's gonna happen there tho' I don't know - he wants to keep it out of Germany if possible - and I don't see the German wanting to fight here....if the guy is champ, and he is isn't he?? then I suppose Moore will have travel.
Well done to Andrew Facey who was great against Woolcoombe and beating Pryce for most of the time. I was hoping he wouldn't get beat around like a rag doll and was concerned by his seemingly lacking defence - the the boy did good.
Also noticed Matthew Hatton couldn't resist the lure of the camera again....why is he always sitting on the one side that the camera faces, dead centre, and 5 rows back, which, people, in layman's terms, means your smack bang in the MIDDLE of the fornicating television screen all night long.
I think he is trying to to metamorph himself into a title shot of some kind by simply getting his face on TV.....why won't he square off against more British oppo's...instead of being linked with every fight in town?
Apologies that I stray off the thread somewhat.

getting back to Forrest tho' and whoever else....there's no guarantees who'll be bossing it on the world stage should Moore's chance ever come around...a year or 2/3?? could be a whole different outlook.
For those who think that's a long time I use Michael Hunter as an example...won European then made 3 defences....it's not as though you win the European and then go on to fight the World Champ in your next fight......anyway, all ifs and buts at this point but good luck to Jamie. Michael Jones is one tough guy IMO and so if he got his shot (and did very well but lost vs. Piccarillo.......then surely Jamie must be deserving of a shot, having beaten Jones) :box:

i had facey 2 points up after 6, his arm punches were doing a good enough job to accumulate points, and it looked like moore was 'gassed' but credit to jamie, he dug deep into his champions heart and came up trumps.

I was a bit tired and my dckhead mate hadn't plugged the laptop in so it went into hibernation mid round, plus I spent 30 seconds cursing him, so I'd go with Stu more on that one.

Gotta go, I have the Nevada State Commission on the phone!

Close fight to score, one of those fights in which you could go for Facey's quantity or Moore's quality.

Moore threw too many single shots just going forward In many of the rounds though. Wasn't hard to score them for Facey.

Ebu level at best Is Moorsey.

Lujan was a top 10 welterweight, so he did beat a sort of world class fighter albeit a smaller one.

It's funny. If they'd had Vuma, Moore's stock could have risen with a fresh, exciting new challenge. Instead he gets Facey again & his stock drops a little bit going over old ground.

Anyway, now am I out of order asking: MOORE v PRYCE please ?
