As a friend and a fan of herbie hide i am tired of hearing all of you talk about him having no chin. klitchko 6'7 260, riddick bowe 6'5 250, chingangu himself was 235 when he hit hide off a clinch(look at rematch hide 1st round knockout.) And when hide fought these guys he was a blown up 215, I lived up the street from him, and occasionaly went to the gym with him in vegas and he chills at 210 without working out. So dont talk about a chin when he is fighting giants. The man is not only the hardest hitting cruiser now(riddick bowe's comment on hide being the hardest hitting fighter he ever fought) but he also has the fastest one punch speed. That combined with what will suprise these guys(his chin will hold up to any punch in there arsenal) is enough to let him go out on a blaze of glory unifying the cruiserwieght titles.
People say who did he beat, an up and coming micheal bennt, 2nd rd ko tony tucker, and all those fights that look like glorified sparing matches still give this man a 39 ko out of 40 fight 97.5% ko rate, don't be haters be believers. I stayed in the gym for two years, trained with and dealt with kevin kelly, augie sanchez, don house, curtis cokes, seen great amatures been to dozens of fights and never seen anyone over 175 other than roy jones with more one punch speed than herbie hide ever. Now with mayweather in his corner unstoppable.

Haven't seen any of his comeback fights (other than the latest one which was farcical), so I'm not going to make any wild predictions, but when you can punch like Herbie can your in with a shot against any cruiser. I'm looking forward to seeing him in a meaningful contest hopefully with Enzo, but I won't hold my breath.
I think that the standard of Herbies chin gets widley exaggerated.
Jezreel, its been rumoured that Herbie can't come back into the country without facing charge from the rozzers, d'ya know if there's any truth in it?

The Herbie is a character, that's for sure! Interesting to learn he's now got Mayweather in his corner training him. Is that Jeff or Floyd snr?
I have to reiterate that age is not on Hide's side, so he needs to secure big fights soon, with the aim to land a title shot & receive a big payday I guess?

I think Herbie can give our 2 big cruisers (Haye and Macca) a good fight. He could be on Hobson's level already, because he stopped Pavol P (whom Hobson beat on pts). Herbie still has some reflexes, but he's not had to show any real skills in this comeback. He probably has something left to make a decent mark at 200-pounds.
Well he is comming off 5 wins which isn't bad although there can be some dispute about the quality of his opponents. I would like to see him in a competitive fight then if he wins I imagen he could do well, he has a big (ish) name and therefore should get a shot and he is with a big promotional outfit. His punch will always be a factor.
Potentualy if haye wins and moves up the cruzer divison will be wide open and a few titles around this will lead to everyone from Calloway to Bell and if Hide is busy possibly him fighting for titles.
So he could have a chance to win one but there are people out there at cruzer including Mac and probably Bell who are better than him.

It put me in mind of David Haye vs Roger Bowden when the journyman felt the power of Haye and then fell over every time Haye looked at him. The difference being ofcorse that was Haye's 3rd fight.

hey herb told me they were traffic warrants and, as far as i know in the us thats not a big deal, you guys in the uk might take it more seriously, especially since he had a court date in late 2005 to take care of it and didn't go. I haven't talked to herb since early 2006, he left vegas, and then i joined the army, we havent been in contact, but my mom still lives pretty close to his vegas house.
